I got learned today.
The matrix is sooooo damn true.
First time I've seen it. I knew about the principles etc and sent it to my finance and told her.. here's why I'm with you.
New Valve covers are on, but on start up I get a big poof of white smoke from the rear cover what gives? I thought it was going to BBQ. I shut it off and checked for leaks, but found none. Maybe it's because I spilled some oil/coolant down there by accident when replacing the coolant elbows and that rear cover. The front one was fine.
Probably just old oil being burned off I have this happen just about everytime I remove the vc.. Nothing to be concerned about just run it for a few and monitor it should stop after a few minutes.
I got a bunch of oil on my manifold when doing mine, I sprayed it all down with brake clean to be safe, otherwise it would have done what yours did
Well monitor within a reasonable distance that if **** does go wrong you can handle it..
The odors that befouled my laundry basket were almost enough to gag a maggot. I was going to wait til Saturday to worry about washing a load, but the smell hit me when I got out of the shower. LOL It hasn't even been that hot this week but I think my work tshirts and my undies just soaked up all the sweat that I did manage to work up. Geesh.
Yup it stopped. All seems well now. Best part is no more oil stains on my new driveway.
That rear cover is a pain no wonder why GM didnt recall that one. The front takes all of 10 minutes to do. Lol
backs ok, its just the brackets in the way lol not one of them made it back on my car today. took every last one off. deleted the evap, and twisted the map into some wires, done deal. it will now come off with out a thing blocking it.
You guys are a bunch of wimps if you think the rear cover is difficult.
