Damn honesty.
So I am leaving work today, and only get about 1/16 of a mile from the parking lot and I see something laying in the road at the intersection. It looked like it could be important so I put the car in park and jumped out to see what it was. There laid a Craftsmen socket set and a black leather binder. I was blocking a truck so I threw the stuff in my trunk and drove up the road and pulled into the next lot. I opened the binder and it was a log book for a truck driver for a company down the road from where I work. I turned around and drove down to the company and gave it to the secretary. She said that guy actually had just left for Ohio and probably had no idea it fell off his truck.
I couldn't in good faith keep the tools when I knew where they belonged. If the log book wasn't with the stuff I would have kept them as I would have had no idea which direction to even begin looking to see where they belonged.
