Most mid towers are teh suck.

Especially when you want to run a top end video card or aftermarket cooler.

Also try to see if it was built for easy assembly. Many force you to put the screws holding the expansion cards in on angles or attempting to thread in by hand etc. Little things like how the HDD's attach, removable trays etc. Watch out for plastic retainers, something to avoid. Metal on metal is preferred, but can also be stripped. But plastic tends to strip easier, or snap.

I don't understand your desire for that sound card.

If you were serious about sound, something with balanced XLR connectors would be better suited to your setup. Some have found some of the entry level USB Behringer external mixers to be decent. Otherwise, your onboard sound will do the same as that card.

If you care at all about keeping the noise from your computer down, you'll visit silentpcreview.com | Everything about Silent / Quiet Computers .

This includes looking up your power supply, video card, cpu cooler, and case/case fans.

If you don't mind having a vacuum cleaner, then you should be okay.

Research on the power supply can be tricky because some of them aren't so great at providing steady power or sag too much under load and such. Things you'll never find from a standard review. You'll have to hunt for some more in depth reviews.

that whole 80 bronze silver and gold certifications are bull****, you know that? over the lifetime of your pc, difference between going 80plus to 80 gold would save you like 10 bucks.

im still not sold on that kingston ssd.

edit: btw. asrock was owned by asus, now its ceo is one of ASUS founders. And they still do use cheaper components. overclock.net had plenty of threads about the ****tyness that is asrock. id prefer an asus/gigabyte board to an asrock. i now remember i had a faulty board from asrock that had a ****ed up CPU slot. bent my pins. thank god it was by dads build and the cpu was 80 bucks, still, i lost 80 bucks.

edit2: if you are gonna get a soundcard, get a xonar dg. cheaper, does the same thing, has an headphone amp. make sure u get unified drivers by searching google.

If you were dedicated, you'd run 240 V to your computer for that extra percent.

And just because you buy the best, doesn't mean you won't have a DOA board. If you look around, it seems every manufacturer is slipping on QC.

After seeing a few builds using this case, I decided this is the one I am going to get. Have not decided on the green or black yet though:

I think the green with a military theme of some sort would be cool. I do like that case, something about it draws me to it. It may be the front button... that red "self destruct" type button grabs my eye.

I would say Nvidia all the way, but its preference really. Some cards are better than others, but a good card comes down to preferences.
Nvidia has the physX drivers to really pull some nice details, but most of the 9xxx series Radeons have ifinity and it works really well on frame-rates.

The biggest thing I have seen it come down to on why I love Nvidia is this:
Nvidia has physX and the software is rock solid. You just have some hardware glitches if you push the card.
Radeon however has solid hardware but the software sucks ball and always has. A friends 9870 has to have a youtube video on pause or it flickers on the 2nd monitor, been that way for years. Oddest thing. Software is teh suck.
