    My honest opinion?

Depends on your expectations, Maaco isn't the worst in the world. They do budget paint work. I've seen great jobs from Maaco and I've seen horrible jobs. Go to shop, look at some of there recent jobs and go from there. Good luck.

Prep it yourself, have them prime it, get it back from them and clean up all their mistakes, have them paint it.

what can I say about maaco....you deffnatly get what you pay for. there prep work is terrible, if you even pay them to prep it. there paintjobs tend to last a few years and then it starts peeling/flaking off.
most people have best results by doing ALL the prep work themselves and having maaco only do paint.

matt it does come primed, but they also have some sort of sealer on top that must be sanded down and then re-primed for good quality.

I gotta go with the workers. It's one not to far from me that does awful work. Just awful. Then there's the one that's like 30 miles away and they do amazing work for the price. Do some research.

my parents had a car painted there a long time ago when it was 99.95 for a full paint job, they said it looked good for about a year and then like magic the car was back to the color it used to be before they painted it. no primer or anything.

I would never take any of my cars there to get painted. I would do the paint work myself before going there.

just throwing it out there, I was quoted 300 for paint on the top surface of my f1 hood, and that was from the best place in town.
