yeah its not the fall that kills ya, its the sudden stop.

on the lighter side, all these planes can fly missing a engine. hell DC-10's used to drop jet engines all of the place lol

I hate flying. I understand how the airplane stays up (I happen to like physics) and I understand that my chances of being in an accident are far less than being in a car. However, they don't call them irrational fears for nothing. My co-workers keep telling me they are going to "Mr. T" me (drug me and tell me we drove) every time we have to go up.

Having said that, I have flown a few times, even cross country (Boston to Vegas) and never had any issues or problems, other than some turbulence. While I dread the trip every time I have to get on a plane, they always work out just fine. Can even be fun sometimes. On the flight to Vegas, we had some party guys behind us and a very cute stewardess. Was an interesting flight.

If you have any motion sickness at all you should take some pills or whatever for it before you leave. I don't get bad motion sickness but i get it a little and for my honeymoon we went from dayton to chicago then to puerto rico and i felt sick for the first 2 days we were there. Wish i would have taken something for that before i left but i didn't. That was my first flight and I wouldn't have any problem with doing it again just make sure i have something in my system first.

I picked up some ear plugs in Texas. They had a funny name like Earplane. But they worked for the ear pressure thing.
2005 Grand Prix GTP CompG. Overkill PCM, ZZP S2 I/C, ZZP MPS W/ 3.3" pulley, 1.9 YT rockers, 42.5# injectors, Moroso wires and AL104 plugs, 180 Thermostat, LS4 MAF.
Front PLOG, Rear PLOG, crossover, all ceramic coated. ZZP 3" Downpipe and 3" exhaust pipes with Borla S-Type mufflers.

they help with the descent to landing?

thats the part that gets me. going up im fine but the landing can suck bad from the ear pressure.

Read first post, skipped the rest.

You're overhyping the whole plane thing. Since you're 21, get a few drinks first so you give no [cares], then sleep once you get in the air. You'll be there before you know it.

    Also, an Ipod helps.
