Wayyyyyy better choice would be an understatement look at price for parts dodge vs. ford. Mustang parts are everywhere and CHEAP. Not to mention the Ford gets better mileage, and weighs less!

Are you kidding me a New mustang GT vs a SRT8 Im willing to bet would be suprisingly close givin my moneys on the lighter mustang. Not to mention the mustang cost less and mods cost less. Even a modded GT you'd still be under the price of the SRT to start with. Like others said pretty much everything that has an SRT badge on it would be far more impressive if they weighed like 600lbs less.

    Does that matter?

All SRT8's are the same platform...your Mustang is not.

Last I checked a mustang chassis is a mustang chassis they ARE all the same. V6 vs a GT500 same shell.

Chargers are an LX platform the Challenger is an LC platform. And the 2011 SRT8 Charger and Challenger (I belive have a 6.4 hemi).

He's talking 1st gen SRT8, not the ones with the 392 or 6.4 package.

He is also talking 05-09 GT...not a new Mustang like you brought up...of course the new 5.0 would bend over an SRT8 300C.

But were comparing a 4.6 GT to a 6.1 HEMI 300SRT8...that would be a much better race.

Keep with the program Vet...cmon now.

yes I know he's comparing the older versions yet the challenger and charger are still different platforms.

The 05-09 would still be a far better option due to the price of mustang parts. Unless you need the 4 doors Mustangs hands down.

Pretty much everything Dodge is over rated.

Go look at some consumer reports for the Dodge vs the Ford.
my moneys again on the Ford!!!

Yeah the 2011 Mustangs gained close to 100 hp over the previous years. 305 HP 3.7L V6 and 412 HP 5.0L V8 (I knew that 4.6 only sounded nice, lol) Just one year earlier for 2010: 210 HP 4.0L V6 and 315 HP 4.6 L V8. When I first heard of those numbers, I said what the hell, where'd that come from.

^^Agreed...old man bought a 2011 M6 3.7 V6 car when they first came out mid year last year...car has a a C&L CAI with a 85mm MAF housing and a Magnaflow Comp. Catback...sounds like a Nissan Z and runs just as good. Faster than the old V8 cars too with the right driver.

    Charger is a 300C with Dodge badging...lulz.

Same car...Challenger is different than those 2.
