not losing any weight. however, my arms are getting bigger.

Last time around I found that to be a problem.
Large shirts fit the best everywhere but in the arm.
I still have plenty of time before I have to worry about that however.
Floating around the 250 mark now.
Benner, again, a HUGE congratulations to you. The transformation is incredible, and serves as a prime example to those who make the excuse that it can't be done. It's a matter of desire and discipline. At some point, you just have to want it bad enough to overcome the feeling of "I don't feel like it", or "this sucks". This isn't just about "looking good", or even about living longer. It's about what you're doing to your health, and what it's doing to your quality of life. If being on blood pressure, blood sugar or high cholesterol drugs, along with drugs to counteract the side effects of the other drugs the rest of your life sounds like a fun routine, or looking like you're about ready to keel over and die at 55 doesn't bother you, then knock yourself out...which you'll literally probably due eventually. If you want to enjoy the time you're here, and get the most out of your life, then you need to take control of the situation BEFORE it's too late, not react later because you no longer have a choice in the matter, or are hoping (usually in futility) that you can reverse the damage you've done.
You're not IN ketosis. Loosing water weight, which is what you're doing the first month or 2 doesn't require ketosis. When I was at my heaviest and cleaned up my diet, I was still eating at LEAST 300g of carbs a day, all be it complex, and I still managed to drop 15lb in a month. Any kind of drastic change in sugar, total carbs or overall calorie consumption is going to result in a quick weight loss in the form of water weight. It's not some magic act that the Atkins diet specifically is doing for you. Easy way to prove it is see how difficult your weight loss gets after the initial 6-week period of a drastic diet change. THAT'S when your weight loss becomes more so a result of loosing body fat rather than releasing water.
Wait, wait, wait. 8 lbs in 2 weeks??? They must be on Atkins, right?? But they couldn't have hit ketosis yet!
Actually with as much of a change as he's made I'm really not surprised. It took me just about that long as well. He was 345lbs and instantly cut out soda, sweets, and fast-food like I did. Plus we've been hitting it decently hard.
When you have that much to lose it's much easier to drop a lot of weight. I had a couple times where I dropped 5lbs in a week. Now I'm too the point where 1 to 2 lbs in a week feels like a huge acomplishment since I don't have that much to lose anymore.
F*cking cookies, beer, back back (kept me out of the gym for two weeks), and not enough sleep... feelin' the fattycakes lately.
I ate like **** over the weekend. Somehow by behaving through the weekdays i've got it all off and still lost weight. Upto 29lbs lost now!
I need to get back into this. A few years ago I was working out for football and I had to go in everyday during the summer which normally consisted of lifting weights for over an hour everyday and every other day going out and running around and doing ironman lifting (carrying kegs....full kegs of water, throwing tires, flipping tractor tires, etc). Anyway by the end of the 2 months I had lost no weight (about 230 at the time) however I had increased my bench by over 50 pounds, increased my squat by over 90, and along with that made my calves and arms big and on top of that shaved 8" off of my waist (went from a 38" to a 30" size waist). That was the best I had ever felt, I mean granted I lost no weight but it all turned to muscle and everyone thought I looked awesome being a defensive lineman at the time I was in pretty good shape being 5'10". However since that point a few years ago I have jumped back to the 38" waist and lost most of my muscle definition. About 6 months ago I tried a new diet which was no more french fries at lunch and no more non diet pop (I am in high school so that is an option everyday) and that was all I did. I lost about 25 pounds in 2.5-3 weeks. I then stopped after that and have stuck at 215 pounds since.
My new years resolution would have to be to get down to 200 pounds (maybe less) and start working out everyday (even if it is just crunches and dips and stuff at home). Idealy I would like to be at 200 pounds and get my 30" waist back and get my definition back. I will also start cutting all that crap out of my diet which means starting to eat salads after work when I work and drinking water when I work (I work at Burger King fo ahead and laugh). I think I am going to start the crunches and dips right about now!
Oh I will also try and start waking up earlier to get a run in.
So, you know how you're a fat wimp and "doing" pullups in the gym is embarrassing and you can't do them at home because you've got nowhere for a pullup bar and don't want to ruin a door frame? Yeah, I used two 4" c-clamps on the rafters in my basement. Strong enough hold for a 260lb dude to do kipping pullups on. I put a piece of pipe insulation on the tops to thicken up the grips. Knocked out somewhere around 15 combined strict pullups and chinups last Monday - a personal record. Guess I'm out of excuses.
Except for my new neck injury. I did some kind of nerve damage or strain or something. Makes parallel parking interesting. Not working out until it heals. Which isn't a problem right now, because on Christmas, I got a monster stomach virus and a sinus infection. I'm over the virus now (On top of eating nothing for two days, it was like a $400 Yuppie cleanse... haven't felt this thin in years!) but the sinus infection's still pounding away.
Nothing to do with a New Year's resolution (would never work for me), but after I sober up this weekend, I'm gonna have to wail on myself.
87IROCZOWNER69: Sounds like you've got a good idea. You're like a younger, more energetic version of me. I started getting out of line. Then I got really out of line. And kept getting out of line. And now...look at me. I have to rely on sheer charm and booze to get women to like me. It's expensive. You don't want that for yourself. Anyway, if I could go back to a more-salvageable time, knowing what I know now, I'd rock the living hell out of olympic lifts. Deadlift, clean, squat, presses (especially overhead), clean & jerk, and snatch, pull-ups, dips, situps. Especially while you've got a free gym and coaches at your disposal. Always ask coaches for a spot or to check your technique - the worst they can do is say no.
I definitely don't want that for myself and right now I don't have to worry about the whole alcohol thing because not only am I 17 but I have NO desire to even start drinking or anything. Realistically from what I have heard from a few people like parents and parents of friends and other relatives is that I am the "whole package" except I just need to knock off some weight, especially from my midsection. The thing that has really hurt me weight wise is that I haven't had a gym class or been in a gym since May of this year and I have completed about every gym class that involves lifting weights and getting into shape. Something I want to do when I get back is to try and trade in one of my open campuses for a gym class that I already took. It really was the best class because we have free weights and benches and all that good stuff and the teacher pretty much said do what you want as long as you work. So I could spend the whole hour and a half working out. So I hope I can do that. Like I said though the goal is to get stronger, more defined, cut out my midsection, drop down to 200 or less, and to start eating healthier.
Found this while logging on to my pc today.

still aiming for 225 but we'll see.

Well im going to try this again this year. All ready got my gym membership set up going to start working out again when I get back from mexico on the 14.
241 and holding it seems.
I started at 268.
I was down to 239 but these damn holidays are killing me.
Depending the day and what I've consumbed I range from 220 to 225lbs.
Deciding this is a good final weight for me or within about 10 lbs. I'm still gonna drop down but I'll pick some back up.
(Alright Children this next section is PG-13 so don't read if your too young)
Also biggest confidence booster I've ever experienced was laying in bed on New Year's with a 9/10 chick running her hands over my stomach/abs/chest/other areas and having her remark at my muscle size. **** yeah this is why I love the new me. Also the confidence booster. Running game at random girls just to do it is so much fun. Even better when I see my boy (Solid 10/10 aesthetically, no homo. Ripped 6 pack) get shot down and her move to me.
I hear ya man. I'm married so I can't play the game, and i'm not to the point where i look good yet. Ya, i've lose weight but i'm still a fat dude. I saw a pic of myself the other day on the Kinect and was like dammit! I feel skinnier!
