Benner, again, a HUGE congratulations to you. The transformation is incredible, and serves as a prime example to those who make the excuse that it can't be done. It's a matter of desire and discipline. At some point, you just have to want it bad enough to overcome the feeling of "I don't feel like it", or "this sucks". This isn't just about "looking good", or even about living longer. It's about what you're doing to your health, and what it's doing to your quality of life. If being on blood pressure, blood sugar or high cholesterol drugs, along with drugs to counteract the side effects of the other drugs the rest of your life sounds like a fun routine, or looking like you're about ready to keel over and die at 55 doesn't bother you, then knock yourself out...which you'll literally probably due eventually. If you want to enjoy the time you're here, and get the most out of your life, then you need to take control of the situation BEFORE it's too late, not react later because you no longer have a choice in the matter, or are hoping (usually in futility) that you can reverse the damage you've done.

You're not IN ketosis. Loosing water weight, which is what you're doing the first month or 2 doesn't require ketosis. When I was at my heaviest and cleaned up my diet, I was still eating at LEAST 300g of carbs a day, all be it complex, and I still managed to drop 15lb in a month. Any kind of drastic change in sugar, total carbs or overall calorie consumption is going to result in a quick weight loss in the form of water weight. It's not some magic act that the Atkins diet specifically is doing for you. Easy way to prove it is see how difficult your weight loss gets after the initial 6-week period of a drastic diet change. THAT'S when your weight loss becomes more so a result of loosing body fat rather than releasing water.

Wait, wait, wait. 8 lbs in 2 weeks??? They must be on Atkins, right?? But they couldn't have hit ketosis yet!
