RWD would be far better at putting down the power, but for a daily driver I would choose the AWD. It would work better than even FWD in the winter. From GM's POV if they were going to build a RWD GP then it would be to similar to the Firebird. But making it AWD opens up a new market niche.

for reference, my car makes ~170 hp at the crank and only ~130 hp at the wheels. AWD drivetrain loss is crazy.

Guess I'd have to scrap my car and switch VIN's .

Seriously, GM dropped the ball on AWD, If they would have done it the the Cavalier or Cobalt with the 260 HP motor the could have had a serious little ralley car on thier hands. Bio would be lusting after that instead of those ugly little Subaru's .

Man.. think about it though.. if it were AWD then we can do some crazy drift video's lol

That woulda been sick to see a lowered, flushed out GP getting sideways

if anyone you where around when this was released. Almost every time that car made a 1/4 mile run it almost always broke something in the awd system.

We know them as the GPX concept wheels, as those are the sames ones that were present on the 1997 GPX concept (which was similar in many aspects).
