I remember reading about this when they had just completed the prototype, and it was going to go into a very limited production. I thought they had made something like 300 of these, but I guess the project never went through. Here are some details on the project:

Richard Petty 50th Anniversary Pontiac Grand Prix Concept Car

I like how it looks, but the only thing that really stands out to me are the seats. Those DEFINITELY should have been the gen 7 GP seats, as opposed to the garbage seats they used on our cars.
PREVIOUS: '89 Pontiac 6000 STE AWD (2/1376), '90 Pontiac GP SE McLaren Turbo (1/2749)
'90 Pontiac Grand Prix STE McLaren Turbo (1/1000), '01 Pontiac GP GTP Special Edition (1/1341)
CURRENT: '00 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (ugh...boring regular one)

? is that it!!! All they did was colored it different, 60 xtra HP, and pretty much stole ideas from us to mod the car.... , what can you expect from a car company that took the regular car they already had, slapped some different badges, stickers on it, gave it a plaque....and called it a special/limited edition!! Sad that they would half-ass such an iconic tribute
UPDATED MODS....GreenBastard HP powertune, CAI, BlueGTP91 Engine bay detail, Finished painted Dash,Hogans Performance DP, Flow Master 40's, Still Missing driver side badge 4 weight reduction.... More Mods Coming Soon!!

car is super nice. if u read the paragraph, they got a CAI, some exhaust work, tranny was tweaked alittle, CPU, something of electronics, and a few more mods...personally I think it was alot of tranny upgrade.

I really like the carbon fiber interior pieces but god I hate those wheels and I could take or leave the paint job. Its definetely a collector car but I don't really like it much

I like the car overall, and I like Richard Petty.

Would be real nice to have that carbon fiber dash shroud and console shroud (which used to be availible from PFYC or somebody but it was very $$$$) and those seats for my car......
