Basic Things that go wrong with a 3800 powered car...

    1. Vacuum Leak: Vac leaks cause many different symptoms from unstable idle, loss in boost psi, can cause a lean a/f mixture wich can be harmful to the engine. Codes relating to vac leaks are:

Common causes of vacuum leaks are rubber T connectors cracking/breaking during other repairs, LIM gasket failure, Throttle Body Gasket Failure, and other vacuum hose failure.
Carb spray , chemtool, Brake Clean can all be helpful in tracking down vacuum leaks spray vacuum T areas and other connections when you find the area with the leak your rpm should change
Also S/C'd and N/A cars could all benifit from having a mechanical Vac/Boost gauge installed that way you will see a problem before it causes damage..

Basic automotive parts stores do not carry rubber T's the complete vacuum line setup can be purchased at the dealership or you can use rubber vac line and hard T's from the auto parts store and save around $10-$15.

    2. Chipped piston yes how fow fun caused by Knock you probably need a stock pulley or more flow mods
check your plugs one or more could or will be smashed thats not a good sign easy fix though just get a short block with low miles swap and be done with it

3.Crank position sensor causes car to die unexpectedly and tech to drop to zero rpms at times it is a common problem and has an easy fix remove and replace

    4. Lim gaskets oil or coolant seen in between the valve cover and blower or intake
    coolant in oil
easy fix if not afraid to get yoru hands dirty and at least have a skill level of 5 out of 10 100 bucks in parts and a few hours work and your back on the road

5.low knocking sound bottom end noise spun bearing opps should have rebuilt the block before modding the car or triing to cam the car...

6.wheel bearings youl need a new hub around 80 bucks and an hours work you hear a grinding noise its annoying to other drivers on the road to just fix it

How to's can be found for most of these on here or google thank you and come again

this thread was not serious altho some facts may or maynot be accurate the only thing for certain is i need a job
