Not so sure about that, my co-workers brother opened up an account using their pets name! Credit company tried in vein to collect from the family, but since it was a pet, and they could not tie the name to the family, the credit card company had to eat it. Since you're only 17, he wouldn't be able to open any accounts in your name unless there was a parent with him. I work at a bank and get free access to credit reports tho
