Well, recently my brother's taken up stealing everyone in our family's identities and attempting to **** them over. Started with my mom, now my stepdad found a bunch of credit cards and wells-fargo loans in his name, and I'm sure I'm gunna get hit too. I'm only 17, so he cant get a credit card or loan, but he can open up checking accounts and set up pretty much anything else. Problem is, form what I've seen, you can't order a ****ing credit report till you're 18, so I can't keep an eye on my ****. What are my options?
Oh, and stunt, this **** is now on top of everything I told you last night. Awesome, right?

If anything is damaging to your credit report it can be removed . Check it when your 18 and dispute anything that was not you.

BTW, the **********s stole my cd player, apex-i afc with custom dyno tuning in programmed in it, my BOV, gauge pod with boost gauge and a/f gauge, my stock turbo that had $700 worth up porting and upgrades to the compressor and turbine which was laying in the trunk of the car, and an extra custom 3" stainless dp. Looks like they were trying to jack the GT25 turbo that is installed on my car now, but couldnt figure out how to get it off. Almost impossible without pulling the engine. Imma kill someone!

Actually credit is incredibly difficult to repair even in the event of identity theft. There is no forgiveness from any of the credit bureaus or for that matter understanding. You can catch things early and on put a hold on it without any damage, but anything that becomes deliquent without your knowledge for a prolonged period will hurt you no matter what, even if you manage not being responsible for the debt. There is a way for you to place a lock on everything, meaning no accounts can be opened at all under your name, i believe you contact all of the credit bureaus. Personally i would have everyone involved press charges and call it a day. Good luck, don't quote me on anything, but start searching and reading up about identity theft.

He's no longer family to us anymore. We are pressing charges, alot of them, against him and his girlfriend.
We did nothing to him. This is the result of his girlfriend hating us and his fear of being alone so he does whatever the **** she wants.

I would do what E90 87SS GTP said, but go to all your local banks and tell them what's going on so they can't open up any checking accounts in your name. Most likely he would have to have your drivers license to do that since it's usually done in person. I've never heard of anyone creating a checking account online, but it might be possible? Loans and such are also done in person, so he's not likely to take one out in your name using one of your family members as a cosigner. Other than checking accounts, your probably in the green.

Guy I work with had the same problem happen to him. Brother stole from mothers checking account, got credit cards in his brother name, stole items from his sister and sold them, etc... This went on for a couple of years, he kept promising that he had changed and apologized, but then it happened again and again. They finally got fed-up and pressed charges, went to jail, but he whined and his family felt guilty, so they bailed him out, got him a lawyer, of course they paid for it, and you guessed it. It started happening all over again! Once a scum bag, always a scum bag. I am a firm believer of an eye for eye, but beating him down is not going to solve anything, though it always does feel good. So yes, press charges and let him and his girlfriend rot. He (they) will say anything to get out of jail, don't let your feeling cloud your judgment or decision. Follow your gut in these matters, it will generally be a better guide.

As far as your credit, in this day and age you always have to be careful. Trust no one! You are allowed one free credit report a year and I highly recommend taking advantage of it. Just be careful where you get them from, some of the websites out there will promise you a free report but unbeknown-st to you, they enroll you into all kinds of things that incurre monthly/annual charges.

Not so sure about that, my co-workers brother opened up an account using their pets name! Credit company tried in vein to collect from the family, but since it was a pet, and they could not tie the name to the family, the credit card company had to eat it. Some companies out there will give anyone, or in this case, anything a credit line.

Nope. I opened one on my own when I was 16.
