If I had the money and another vehicle to drive in the winter - I would be the owner of an '03 Cobra - there really isn't any discussion needed about that.

i still like my GP, dont get me wrong. it is fun everytime i get in it and the blower whine is all kinds of entertainment. i am just looking for a nicer car to drive around now. something with a nice leather interior, comfy ride quality, enough power to keep me happy when i want to pass people..hell, maybe a nav unit? my choices as of right now: legacy gt, g35x, and audi a4 quattro. i plan on test driving each of them to see which one i like the most, but i think the g35x will suit me the best because it is a bigger car that wont make me want to mod the crap out of it since its N/A to begin with. the legacy gt and a4 are going to make me want to buy things since it already has a turbo on it. who knows what ill end up buying.
Why skimp...like Swash I've always wanted a '03 Cobra after riding with my buddy Cam who has a 790RWHP Whippled Cobra...there is nothing like pegging the speedo before entering the highway from a onramp or getting sideways at 80 from laying into the throttle...I plan on a Audi RS4 or Cadillac STS-V before too long...maybe when they drop around 20K ish or so...after the GTP is paid off![]()
Lol if I was modding it that would be different there's always the KenneBell S/C that gives 300 hp ON TOP of the stock with no other mods, think about that with a tune and air intake and your at just about 600 HP with $5,000 invested = tits.
Also the RS4 is a car for Cocks. The STS-V I like but I'd LOVE to own the new CTS-V.
IF I end up buying another car in the near future it'll be a Jeep SRT8 hands down. 425 HP and AWD for the MI winters = Perfect for me.
I definatly agree with this. A GTP is a very good value, especially with how there priced nowadays. I'm sure i'll always have my GTP, its realable, pretty quick, and is about one of the best looking cars on the road to this day IMO. All these AccordS, Maximas, whatever of the era don't make a pipple on a Grand Prixs ass as far as looks go.
Very good informative thread, I agree with everything you had to say Swash. Our minds think alike as far as cars go and whats rice and whats not. I respect real import tuners, not ricers. I used to hang out with a couple Supra guys myself (one had around 800 HP, the other with a little over 1,000 HP), I respected them for what they were but not my taste, i'd never own one.
I'm like Swash, If I want a toy, it'll be something American Muscle because that were my taste is...
i was talking about cars in the same class as the gtp during that time...and if u have to pull out the jap's greatest in trying to discredit a gtp that u obviously have no arguement...nd the s2000 shouldnt be with those cars for the 32,000 it costs new i would go out nd buy a used vet and rape it all day long...i think if u spend the same amount of money modding an american v8 as u do on any of the rice burners more times that not u get a far faster car.
I'm with you 100% on that last part, I'd rather have a ZR1 and a CTS-V in my garage rather than a GT-R and an IS-F lol.
2008 EVO GSR - 33k, 291 HP stock AWD 4 Banger will take a G8 GT in a quarter mile race and on most tracks. It does 13.5 secs flat in the quarter. The GP is outdated we're talking about the G8 GT still. The new STI is a little more at 35k but has 305hp and will also rape the G8 GT. For someone like me both of these are more practical because of the AWD and our damn MI winters.
id snatch up a 03 cobra and turn it into the cobra called snakebite on youtube ooo man thats nice and if money was free... lol
If there was a single import that I would buy - I would most likely get an STi. I truly thiink that Subaru builds a phenomenal vehicle and that car is a beast from the factory and has ridiculously obscene potential.

the sti is a killer car for sure and i actually do like the new look of them....i am not saying i dont like jap cars they have some really sweet stuff its just i like the american car...big engine lots of noise and not always practical...plus i like supporting my country especially with the way things are right now
Okay I just watched a show called motorweek on tv. They did a road test of a new g8 gxp. Its kinda an expensive car. Not too bad but a bit out of mosts price range. Theu said the track was cold and they couldn't find great traction but the best they could muster was a 13.2 quarter mile. If u ask me, that aint to shabby for what's basically a 4 dour sedan with some cool lookin scoops here and there. I love it. That's plenty enough power for me. Add some exhaust and intake and maybe pcm upgrades and ur runnin high 12s with ur everyday driver family sedan. N/a mind u. But like I said, they aren't quite in the used catogory yet so their kinda expensive right now.
^^ If you want that I'd throw 20 grand more and get a CTS-V. Actually where I live for about the same price I'd get a Jeep Cherokee SRT8, 420 hp AWD and big basically works out perfect for MI weather lol.
