What I meant was that your gonna lose money selling the parts then have to resink it into the TA. Your gonna have to spend more money. Thats what I was trying to say.

I agree with Fish...point in being your trans. you have over 3 in it and selling it for 2800...come on.

a 850whp turbo'd TA? for 7300? WHERE???? more than likely an LT1 pile.......

KEEP THE GTP. pay it off. then get the TA. I cannot believe you have these thoughts

I say with the amount of work and
time you have put into your ride,
you should just store her away for a bit....
You may have lost some interest right now with it
but you like many of us will come that day when you
will say Dam i wish i never got rid of that car....

Yes true you could always get another one and
go through all the mods again

But you already know what your car needs and how it is
from all the hrs you have put into it...
    Store it away

    You demod/sell it, your banned!

    J/K

Sleep on it for a while. Might be glad you did, cause you might want to end up keeping it.

    Shaun -

Thanks for the reply regarding the trans.

Unfortunately, that stall is way too lose for me, and I didnt realize you had that much $$$$ into it. I'm sure somebody will buy it for your asking price, but its definately more than I need.

Good luck with whatever you do mang! I'd hate to see you get rid of the prix!

Wow! Wish I could snag the car as a whole, but not feasible til Comp G is gone in six months or I will be divorced. Don't see you waiting so best of luck. I'll PM you tomorrow about drivetrain. Do you already have replacement? 26k original mile lower-level modded drivetrain in my 99 and cash price? Sad to see it go. Love them too, but TA won't have the same soul. RWD it if you need a different rush.

IMO, I don't think its going to be as cheap to do up an LS1 as you think. I've priced it and know a few people. If your planning on making any major power power, you gotta deal w/ the rear end, tranny, + suspension first thing before touching the motor. You may want to do more research.

Also, I don't think now is a good time to get an old F-body. There way over priced around here, I predict there prices to drop a bit when the new F-bodies come out...

I appreciate the input but i have done quite a bit of research... i found an almost brand spanking new trans am WS6 that has 4k miles for 16k. Black with a drak grey interior.... so sweet... also i have my dads buddies that work at finish line performance and i know 2 guys that will be working on my buddies gto from speed inc. So the deals on performance/suspension/trans/rearend the whole deal is well taken care of.

Lowly ill keep in touch with you. theres 2 guys that want the trans right now, so im trying to get the one thats most convenient.

    I can understand your position.

Everyone is looking at it from the outside. The actual experience of owning it is different. Its like having a really, really hot wife who is a pain to be around behind closed doors i.e., attitude, smells, bad personality, etc.

My thought is get rid of the GP. You had your fun with the car. That is what it was for. Unlike a hot wife, the car won't care what you do with it and there is no honor required to keep it. If you DO want to honor it, let someone else enjoy it so it can stay happy. Demod it to a point where you see actual money coming back.

You can get the T/A but pick the one you REALLY want or else you will be back in the same boat as before.

The 40th has 2 year warranty, and i wont be modding it except for the no mufflers/u-bend delete thats fine and the intake i got approved for. so to change over the trans is no point.. id rather get the $$ back on my pocket. You know you want some pieces fish!!

Man, I don't blame those chromed and polished parts not sitting around long, and being the first to go. They were all truly a work of art IMO.

Your going to end up spending way more money getting this ls1 fast. I dont know how your figuring 7k ish. I havnet looked at trans prices for ls1's but im sure they are going to be near the price of the built 4t65hd's. I dont see how rear end, clutch or built trans, turbo kit, fuel system and whatever else is going to be 7k. If that was the case everyone would be doing it. Are you doing cam and heads on the ls1 to? Im not sure how they are going to pull 850whp on a completly stock block with just forced induction. Even on race gas that seems far fetched.
