Man, I don't blame those chromed and polished parts not sitting around long, and being the first to go. They were all truly a work of art IMO.

Your going to end up spending way more money getting this ls1 fast. I dont know how your figuring 7k ish. I havnet looked at trans prices for ls1's but im sure they are going to be near the price of the built 4t65hd's. I dont see how rear end, clutch or built trans, turbo kit, fuel system and whatever else is going to be 7k. If that was the case everyone would be doing it. Are you doing cam and heads on the ls1 to? Im not sure how they are going to pull 850whp on a completly stock block with just forced induction. Even on race gas that seems far fetched.

where did i say ALL of that is 7k...??? just the turbo kit is 7k. Do research and you will see that the Trans Am is alot Easier to maintain... As long as you beef up all the components needed as supporting mods.. also check out speedinc.

This 98-02 LS1 F-body Turbo Tuner kit is capable of 800RWHP/800RWTQ with a forged 346"+ displacement engine, 6 speed trans, proper fuel system, 60# injectors, stock PCM, and 100 octane fuel. Set your boost at a lower level with the supplied Innovative controller, and run on 93 octane (We made 675RWHP@10psi) <---soo..... i paid more money to get my car to 500whp when i can pay less and have it make more.

Easier to maintain after you put a 1200 dollar clutch, different rear end, forged motor, and never drive it hard. After you pass 500whp nothing is easy to maintain so im not sure where you got that from. Im guessing you will end up spending 12+k to get anywhere near 800rwhp. Are you getting a t56 or 4l60? Im sure by the time your done you will have spent more money making the power in the t/a than you did in the prix and it wont be any more reliable.
