I was almost simultaneously rearended by a bike and a Fusion this morning while traveling 50 MPH. I shook til nearly 9. Then on the way home just after passing through the two intersections where I've been totalled in both FWD GPs and broke an arm plus the one where the Ventura was totalled...
BAM!... metal against the GTP floor. I was just rolling down a clear lane going 40, nothing laying in the road ahead, didn't run over anything with the front tires, didn't see anything in the rearview. Too many cars around and behind and too close for me to even flinch, and it was 2 or 3 blocks until a place to pull over. But I did and the right rear was half flat and hissing out a hole in the center of the tread. Nice crispy near-new looking tire ruined. Tiny spot of wheel bearing looking grease on the outer sidewall.
So I unload the rtunk and full spare and all that is a go but since I was using a tire iron, I pulled something in my right arm on the first nut. Some beach. Changed the flat left handed then used the ice thing from my cooler on the arm for the other 15 miles. I can feel it from my fingertips to my shoulder. And I have a bazillion holes to drill at work so hey, what another perfect day!![]()
