I have a front seat in my Cutlass and GP. I have taken the front seat out of the Cutlass to haul things. It was how I got my fridge to and from the dorms in college. It was taller than the normal fridges you see (maybe 3 ft tall) and the only way to get it in was to remove the passenger front seat. Worked like a charm

Its just amazing how much real estate that seat eats up. They rattle, too. That was the first reason I removed it for, it was just annoying. All 3 I've had have had rattly passenger seat too.

Heres my new thing that I probably need help with.

My 99 GT sits by the curb a lot but I drive it a couple times each week. It rained hard yesterday and that car doesn't keep water out well so I wnt to use it for a short trip to shake out the water. Typical GP, but-

After a normal startup, it died in a few seconds. Re-cranked easy. I gave it a few then headed down the street. Didn't get out of the neighborhood though. It stalls randomly going slow but doesn't die. Well it did once more so I turned around took it home and used the GTP instead. Any tips before I dig into it?

Well, yep GP down. I have no idea how to diagnose random stalling. Can't throw even one part at it, theres no money. My initial guesses involve removing fuel and ignition system components, looking at and cleaning them and putting them back on and hoping for a change. I am hunting for how to check fuel pressure. Seems like something that could be caused by a clogged fuel filter, but the dash lights dim slightly when it starts to stumble. Whatever it is, it will probably not start before long because going downhill so fast that I think I better work on it in the street so the other cars don't end up blocked in.

What do I make the video of? Would it be dash or under hood or what?

Go under the hood with it running, wiggle wiring harnesses, tap on sensors and fuse boxes. Then bang on the ignition switch area
    Any codes?

you got that fat plug near the pass side dog bone, open and close that plug a few times. mine was stalling out and not getting fuel, finally tossed a code that seems unrelated lol but working that plug fixed it. i later greased it and worked it some more. runs fine since. never know, free repairs are great lol

Okey Doke, will scope that out. I just made a vid but getting a useful segment posted might take all afternoon.

It set a code 102 just now. Wouldn't die, of course. But I put it in gear and tapped the gas a couple times and man what a harsh jerk. BAM! Behaving like a bad accelerator pump in a carb. Didn't die though. I wiggled a bunch of connectors during the vid but no change.

P0102 is low voltage to MAF, right? Had the same code on my old GTP. There was an article I found to help diagnose the issue, which really helped.

    Edit: Found it. http://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm/3....nostic-tests-1

102 is a bad maf, or fuse 21 blew

My fuse #21 would blow, ended up having a bad MAF to PCM wire, just ran a new one and all was good. Well, and I went through like four used MAFs, lol.

First utube vid for IDJ... profanity begins at the minute mark lol.

Second half of vid was under hood and it may have stumbled a little when I wiggled the MAF wires so, checking. Heres your entertainment:

Did you see how the tach just drops when I tip the gas... sometimes?

    Fuse 21 looks OK.

unplug the maf car off, then fire it up. but with a 102 code the maf wires are bad, or the maf.

is it idling that high on its own? or you holding it there?

It was doing that on it's own but it wasn't warmed up. Probably the original 178K MAF on there so I'm calling it that. I can snag the fairly low usage one (that got soaked in oil but it ran OK after) off my spare L67 since part numbers are the same and try it. Sound like a plan?

Runs same with it unplugged, yep. Thanks for the assist guys, that wasn't so bad if thats it. The only time I've attempted to remove a sensor screw from a TB, it snapped off the head. Wish me luck.

tap on the screws first, might help break any rust free.

You're talking to somebody who loves to hammer. Off to the JY for another casting, lol. Seriously, I will. Plus PB soak and maybe warming it.
