there's a lot to "fix" about it before it drives like it's supposed to (~$1000 in parts worth). otherwise it's an awesome car. the "crutch" everyone complains about is the rear end, but if you treat it well (no sustained wheel hop situations) then i don't see any issues with it. however, there are replacements (ford 8.8).

they're all starting to get up in the mileage so you have to worry about motor/trans mounts, cradle bushings, the center driveshaft bearing, struts, etc. you know, wear parts. once i get the headers in and tuned, the driveshaft, trailing arms, and cradle bushings installed it'll be a completely different car. then it's onto the ****ty stock suspension that's starting to show it's wear.

DO NOT buy a V1 and think about making it a racecar. it'll never happen. it's too heavy and building them up isn't expensive.

    sick nasty awesome in comparison.

it's a perfect DD so long as you fix a few of the faults it comes with stock.

Yeah I have read alot about the rear diff/bushing issues including all the mounts...car would never be a track car just fun dd with boltons at most...I like my compg but also feel there is alot more to offer in a ls platform so I would rather put my money towards something I will want to keep along time...did you do the gforce axles or bmr kit?

    axles are a good purchase.

any anti-wheel hop "kit" is a waste of money. none of them work. and that BMR pinion brace will just snap the nose off of your diff. do not buy that.

do motor mounts, trans mount, rear diff bushing, and rear cradle bushings from creative steel. then get a new master cylinder that a guy named philitine is making as well as the hurst shifter from another guy or a replacement that a guy from "domestic v8 solutions" makes. then do your bolt ons and get a tune. if your driveshaft carrier bearing is going out or gone already (good probability) send your driveshaft to another guy to rebuild it with a poly surround carrier bearing for...$385? not sure on exact price.

after all of that the car will be a completely different animal and the rest of your upgrade path is up to you. a lot more power and you'll be needing a rear end upgrade and you'll probably start noticing that the suspension in stock form isn't able to keep up with how you drive and you'll spend money there, too. it never stops.

if you can keep yourself from throwing parts at it like a wild man you can have yourself a great DD that doesn't need much attention in the end.

handles decent. lowering springs are about the same as stock, but lower.

once you go coilovers it's a whole new game. apparently the car doesn't wiggle all stupid over bumps and tracks a lot flatter. it will also make the car feel correct in turns and not want to push (it'll rotate the rear end how it's supposed to).

i haven't been able to experience it, but i am going to get some coils next year when i work on the suspension. my stock shocks are gone and they need to be replaced anyway.
