Funny you should ask. Bad things. Dude actually got around to draining it today and sent me a video of him twisting the input shaft freely and hearing grinding. SO I know the chain is at least toast, but it's more what caused the chain to break that scares me. Here's some pan pics, not good.

I know, it kinda pooped in my Cheerios a bit, but I got this awesome TB so that's pretty freakin cool. As long as the IS, Gear set (I planned on a new chain anyways) and the VB\CP combo are worth it, I'm in good shape on the transmission.

Yea, obviously the chain is snapped, but it's more what caused the lockup for the chain to snap that worries me. Maybe the axles bound up and locked the diff up which stripped the sun gear a bit then snapped the chain? Who knows.

I've been assured the transmission will ship Friday. Not much has happened with the car since Danny's birthday has been coming up (it's today). I have an N\A MAP sensor I'm going to hook up to the vacuum tree where the BBV and the brake booster connect, and I'll run the signal wire to the AVT box so I can log the readings. I'll go for a drive and log the results, under WOT if I show vacuum, the TB\intake\etc is a restriction. Once I swap on the TB and everything else (and get the tune safe enough to go WOT), I'll go on the same drive so I can compare the results and have some data about the swap.

Transmission shipped today, so the waiting to see what happened begins. Also, I decided to swap over the FWI and LQ4 MAF and tuning the car to the new MAF before the TB gets installed. This is mainly so I have 2 sensors monitoring the difference between the 2 TBs. I'll be able to see the MAF's difference as well as the N\A MAP I am going to put on the S\C's tree. I have the MAP ready to go on. I had an old N\A plenum with the MAP still on it, but no connector. I was able to get good solid connections with some old fuel injector connectors (turned 90*), then filled the connector with hot glue. This isn't a permanent sensor by any means, so this will work just fine. Intake\MAF\etc. goes on tomorrow, and depending on how the LQ4 tuning goes, TB will be going on the day after or more likely Saturday.

Not this time, but I have an old project to tie up that will involve a few relays.

Swapped the intake in today. I have the LQ4 installed, but not wired in. My wife goes to her mom's for dinner tonight so I don't want to mess the tune up yet. Tomorrow morning I'll wire it in and get the tune going (hopefully) before work. Install was about as expected. I didn't quite get the angle just right, but it's good enough. The crooked clamp and the bolts on the tops of the clamps are driving me nuts. Those will be face down and straight whenever the final install happens.

Here's the S pipe after the cut:

During the install, the LQ4 is obviously happy to see me.

    All done:

Judging off of those pics, looks like I'll be doing brakes soon.

LQ4 is wired in, so is the MAP, I just need to run the wire into the cabin. It won't be permanent so it'll just be a wire around the door, lol. Soldered everything, heat shrink, etc. I also used the IAT's +5v and the MAF's ground to power the MAP sensor. Easy peasy. I drove around for about 20 minutes, then logged the way home and tuned up my trims a bit. Seems to drive pretty good, although I miss my old tune's timing table, Once all the dust settles from all this I'll think about using it again. Pics!
During the install, you can see the 2 wires I ended up using for the MAP

The way it sits now. I'll use the HVAC port on the supercharger to connect into everything, only during testing though of course.

So get this, the LQ4 MAF looks to not flow anymore than the stock MAF. I have 2 logs (one from the stock MAF and one from the LQ4) and the Hz readings are within 100-500hz of each other (at the same MAP kPa). Sometimes the stocker actually is a bit lower! I'll get more apples to apples comparisons tomorrow, but I was hoping there'd be a bigger difference, lol. LS& MAF may be in my future! Far future, but future!
