Fender is on, I picked up some some under coating and already had some rust converter and used it. I used the wire brush or grinder to get down to bare metal, then sprayed rust converter on and let it dry for a few hours. After than I put 3 coats of under coating on and let it dry. Pics will pretty much speak for themselves. It needs a bath:

I got everything I could down to bare metal here, it's actually still pretty solid. I was happy. Really the rockers are the only problems left.

There was a little bit of rust on the inner well I took care of on the left here:

    And all back together:

Now, to clean up and mow the grass. I didn't want to mow first and have the wind blow clippings all over the paint.

i love how you pull up the front lawn and work on your car at the front door lol the cops would be at my house asap for that move.

fender looks to be a good match too.

because its not a driveway??? just try parking on the wrong side of the street here too. people like to complain to much around here.

your not even legally allowed to work on a car in your drive way unless its registered to the house. but that one is not enforced unless you piss your neighbors off. they complain and your shop is now closed up.

Yea I've never had a problem. Most of the time I won't do stuff that could lead to leaking, since it's our only concrete so I can't have stains. So the electronic work, car washes, etc. happen up front. I'll even pull the car right up to the front porch during bad storms. For some reason the tree and house seem to shield a lot of that stuff.

Lol, my car is parked in the middle of a 3 way intersection right now, facing the wrong way and I just waved at the the cop that patrols our neighborhood. NJ and Oakland are the only places I have had to pay to leave.

That color difference was there with the factory (I assume) fender, too. I'm not sure why. I plan to get a different bumper and repaint it at some point anyways. Nice thing is I am going to keep my old fender for paint matching and all that jazz. If this job got your seal of approve than I am a happy camper, lol. My welding (goofy) friend saw the rocker panels and went on and on about how easy it would be to fix and all that. He was talking about just cutting out the cancer and just tacking a piece to the top of the cut then bending\forming it to the body lines. He seemed pretty confident, so I dunno I might try it out just to get me through the winter or 2. The cuts\his welds would be below where I was going to cut it off and put replacements in, so the worst case scenario is I'd be faced with the same amount of work I am now. I was thinking of coming up with some idea (that I'm sure I'll get help on from IDJ and\or Jeff, lol) about putting a drain or at least access to the inner rockers in between the holes of the side skirt bracket. That way I can clean them out after every winter along with initial rust treatment. Here's a random pic from google and the bracket is rusted to **** (mine isn't) but you can see where the holes are...or should be...

    Thoughts?

Wow, now that's some rust! I've done a little body work, but my buddy Chuck is the body master he took a 06' civic R or something like that and it was wrecked in the rear dr side quarter panel, and cut that stuff out and fit 2 cars together on a frame machine and it looks great. He's on my FB page as Charles, looks like Vin Diesel. His cover photo is that car., he's my go to guy for bodywork.

So Russo did a quick photoshop to make the hood white. I think I like the black better, I dunno.

One solid color makes it disappear.. Accent it with a subtle color like black and it'll give it more pop without looking out of place or like a accident victim like your current black hood.

If any white is involved I think I'll do black in the "scoop" sections then everything else white, if you know what I mean. I dunno yet, I like the contrast between black and white.

Good thing they don't let me eat in the computer lab at work, I just would have spit my food out, hahahahahahaha. There was a guy on facebook that did something similar to what I was talking about, but inverted and with red and black. Let me find the picture...

    ^ set that on fire..

    That's looks like complete ass
The red needs to be black.. And the black needs to be white as if it was going on your car.. And the paint on the front insert portion doesn't need to be stretched it that much.

I know I know, that's what I was talking about inverting. In front\in\whatever you wanna call it he scoops with be black, and the rest would be white. Basically take that hood, paint the red black, and paint the black white.

You gotta admit the theme could easily become cop-esque, but no Booba yes your ride is nicer than the bluesmobile. It has cop brakes or something though, right? I still want a good pic to edit so I can show you an idea. Time is tight though, and I can prolly find a pic when I get to it. The current scheme really doesn't trouble me visually but black spoiler is unusual. IMO these cars look good with flames if you wanna be loud about it. Personally I think you'd do well to pursue the muscle look of the 5 spoke rims. I have a few ideas... but its perfect weather I'm headed outside
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
