I'm looking at something like this:
    http://www.circuitsgallery.com/2013/...ing-wiper.html

I just need to find somewhere to source a descent size rain sensor I can mount somewhere...

Tried to build the timer thing for the HIDs, where the HIDs won't turn on for 3 seconds or so after the car turns them on. That way they don't turn off during cranking since they aren't on yet. It's still a work in progress, but it'll happen soon. I did snap a few pics, she looks good for needing a wash...BAD.

The timer type circuit I'm setting up (With Jeff's help) will delay the retros turning on so when I start the car the HID's won't turn on then off during cranking, and back on running. I set up a little test of it all before I pull the headlight and it looks like it'll work. Jeff and I threw this schematic together, but I used more capacitance and a different resistor accordingly:

I used 4 4700uF caps and a 56k resistor to give me close to 3 seconds of delay. I think it'll be enough, here's the test video:

It's a work in progress and I have a little project box type thing for it all when I install it in the car.

Looking good drop that 10K to 2K and it will discharge quicker.

Haven't gotten too much done to the car lately between going to the gym to get in shape (and strengthen back) and everybody we know having a damned birthday party. Anyways, this upcoming weekend I hope to be getting a bung welded into my crossover so I can move my 02 sensor up there and plug up my old bung...it got cross-threaded by a friend...long story. Exhaust shop chased the threads, but I don't think it's all that great...

Depend on what else is going on, I hope to be getting the window integrated into the alarm the following weekend...after a junkyard run since I need more relays. In the mean time, I finally installed the toggle switch on the pillar gauges. When the switch is down, the gauge shows transmission temperature, up shows oil temperature. Came out pretty good:

Well so far today I did 2 of the Big 4 (Big 3 for W-bodies). My local car audio shop owned by my cousin only had a little over 3 feet of 1\0 AWG wire left, so I only ran the alternator to fuse box and fuse box to battery. I had the cheap 4 AWG pre-made wires, so the rest of them will stay until I can finish it up. All 4 connections are soldered, so it's a pretty good connection now. I followed this general idea to solder, but I crimped it first:

    Onward to my pics:

    Solder dripping out the bottom:

Back of CS144, when I pulled the engine way back when I soldered that copper end on the factory wire...there's a lot of solder in there...

Ran from the Alternator to the relay box, it rained on me for about 7 seconds, enough to make everything look dirty. Damnit:

You can also see the other wire running down to the battery. I had to cut a bit of plastic off to have the cable come out the side, but nothing crazy:

Like I said, there will be more, don't worry. I'm also going to hold off on the write-up until I have everything done. Depending on weather I'll start the windows later today or tomorrow.

Dad came down for Father's day today and we had a few projects to knock out. I got the weed eater running again (been a year), then we fixed up out dining room chairs since they broke. After that I pulled the bezel out of the car to give it some TLC, and it came out pretty good. The sun had taken it's toll so I wet sanded with some 2000 grit, then polished, then waxed. Came out as good as new, IMO. Don't mind the little bits of wax still on it:

I'm going to polish up the cluster a bit then reinstall it and get some more pics. Center console needs more TLC than this...I don't know if it's coming back. It's easier to sand and paint so I'm okay with that. You guys think I should do my window switch things like this or leave it factory?

All done and back together. I'm happy with the main gauge\radio bezel, but the center console will get replaced\repainted. The pictures don't show it, but since I know it's there I see it all the time, lol. I also polished up the cluster and pillar gauges...within 3 minutes everything has some dust on it somewhere. Of course.

I guess I didn't push the heated seat switch in all the away. whoops.

Premade 555 timer came in from China today. Not bad for a $1.72, if it works. It looks simple enough so if it doesn't work, I can repair it. Pretty small too, it'll fit in the little projector tube I have for the capacitors\relay now. I might even have to find something smaller:

If no one remembers, the point of this thing will be to delay the headlights turning on by up to 10 seconds. That way the engine will be started and the voltages will be "stable" before the HID's turn on. In the stock configuration (with the automatic lights functioning) the headlights turn on in run, off during cranking, then back on while running. This on-off-on is bad for HID bulbs, so avoiding this will help me get better life out of them.

Sweet, even if those stinking Chinese can't get a simple circuit right at least all the hardware is there to fix it. For $2.00 you really can't beat it. This is a much better way than trying to do this with the caps, for this modification. The other one for the sunroof, but this one I thought might be a stretch.

BTW your package is going out today.

    Awesome, thank again!

Making a junkyard run tomorrow to hunt for random things, along with power wire, lol. Let me know if you need anything. The premade circuit will go in this weekend, along with the window relays, I hope. I think that I may also install yet another relay on the alarm to turn the headlights off during remote start. I can just run another relay off of the starter interrupt circuit since it's active during remote start. That way the headlights won't turn on when the car is covered in snow and I remote start it to warm up while I clean all the snow off.

Made one of the ground wires today. Only thing that I don't like is he only had red wire, and 2 ends. He'll have more tomorrow so I'll make the others after the JY run tomorrow. I also have some black wire loom on order at the parts store to make it black, lol.

If it worked it'd be awesome. This thing is DOA. it lights up green but never clicks over and turns the relay on. I figure it's either the potentiometer or the 555 timer itself. I have the pot pulled right now and I'm testing it. If it's bad maybe I can put a resistor in it's place to set the time, I don't need it adjustable.
