OEM ballast out of what car? I might get one at the JY if I can. Why do I have to cut the wiring for the ballast? Can't I just unplug it? lol. Do they ship one out to me then I ship the bad one back or do I have to ship mine in and wait for the return? No car at night sucks.

Oem ballast our of cars like Lexus, minus,Nissan etc.. Yea they're harder to find in the yard.

They use to have you cut the wiring in the ballast that way.. Instead of you having to send your ballast and wait for trs to receive them. Then shipping another.. It minimizes the downtime.. They may have changed this but that use to be how they did it.

Go grab a set of cheap h1 halogen bulbs from the part store and use those meanwhile.

Oh I get it, just prove that the one I have is indeed dead. I have swapped everything around already and it's the ballast for sure. I'll just get rides to work for a few days. I'm working some crazy hours the next few days. 7:30PM-4AM tonight, 3:30PM-4AM tomorrow night, 3:30-4AM Tuesday, 11:30AM-Midnight Wednesday. Then I have a four day weekend though. Hopefully I can get the replacement ballast by then, since a buddy is working the same schedule and can give me a ride.

    2019 F150 XL - Make it run 12's N/A
    2012 F150 STX
    - Gonna be a race truck
    02 GT "Slowkar" 180k - Top Swap, Gen V, TOG Headers, 1.9s, e85, 3.25. It's literally the slowest e85 car ever....

Man I keep running across ballasts for HIDs all the time for some reason I see a lot of them on the impalas. I know they are aftermarket since they are Ty wrapped in but the bulbs and lenses are gone. I won't be able to go to the yard until next week, but I'll send you a message if you are still looking for one.

Thanks, but these had better be replaced or at least on their way by then. They're only 5 months old and have a 2 year warranty so it should be a simple swap out.

Iv been running some vvme ballasts for like 3 years, warmup time is ungodly slow tho. Wouldn't mind a pair of denso ballasts

I'll have to look into it a bit more and see about these OEM ballasts and where I can get some. Once this stuff is all up and running again of course. Buddy sent a few pictures, mostly before everyone showed up. There were a few W-Bodies but no other Grand Prix that I saw. Parts of the meet really did remind of of F&F lol.

A buddy of mine had a spiffy camera and he's editing pictures now, hopefully I'll have some later today.
Yep 3 in 3 months, does that make me experienced?
Cut the cord and take a pic showing the serial#, email them with the pic and get a new one in a few days. If they are under warranty
That was with the old Five5 DSPs....last week I got the new XB55s and bought a used one just in case.

The beauty with the new ballasts is the non hard wired approach. Make the ballast accessible and all you have to do is unplug/plug 2 cords in.

No more removing headlights and messing up the aim/cutoffs

That's how my ballast currently is, one plug from the relay harness and one going to the igniter. Everything plugs right in. Are you saying they'll have me cut the harness?

Uh-oh not this again??!! I dunno man.
I thought of that 5 months thing after I posted......so you have the new ones...dern.
Smash it with a hammer then take a pic.....this crap is getting old ya know.
If I have to go thru the same BS that I did last year I am going to be pissed.
I spent more money to get the potted Densos(after 3 of those fckrs biting my ballz) which worked without a hitch but they are only 35 watts.
I just put the new ones in 2 days ago......guess you get to be Joe Experience on this one.
I thought the new series was suppose to be the $hit......post it up on HIDplanet. If anything does the dummy on me I will be posting over there.

I didn't read the last few posts but did you trouble shoot it, swapping around? I'm sure you did

We'll see how the replacement goes, but I may pick up a spare set. I only have 35 watt HIDs.

Eh, failures happen. I'll wait until I have 2 failures before I throw to much of a fit. Or if they make replacement a pain\take forever.

May as well just get 6 fast brights for the same price and toss the btches when/if they croak...
They can be had for around the 40 range a pair from Alibaba...you would have to wait for the China ship.
That would include the new igniter set up.....there's your spare Dogg.

Do you have an account on HIDplanet to ask the forum about returns? This isn't good news for me either cuz I don't want to start the same ol all over.
