Got the 2 A pillars sanded down pretty good, I'll have pics here in a few, once they dray off from the soap\water bath they got afterwards. Hoping to get the painted tonight and installed tomorrow. I also went to a Chiropractor about my back today and it's quite a bit better, and my Bronchitis is all but gone, so I think I can actually get this stuff installed this weekend lol.

I've got some textured black paint I'm going to try out. If I like it I'll do the rest of the pillars too.

Here they are sanded down, Janelle did most of this today, lol:

And the paint, soaking in hot water to raise the pressure in the car and get a finer mist:

Well, good news and bad news. They look good, but need a little more sanding, so they're not done yet. More bad news is my wife spilled water on the laptop...I was able to unplug it before anything bad so it'llbe alright, just has to dry overnight. For tonight I'm on the stupid tablet...that takes horrible pictures.

My landlords suck so yes that is tape on the tile...it kept ripping socks and pinching our feet, lol.

Personally, I would have ditched the Oil Temperature gauge, for the Oil Pressure gauge.

Oil temp, dumb. Fuel Pressure is pretty important.

I don't really have any plans on modding that much more, and I already have the fuel pump rewired, so I shouldn't max it out for awhile. I have alarms set up on my LTFTs so if it starts leaning out I'll know. I plan to put a small rocker switch somewhere so I can toggle between engine oil temperature and transmission fluid temperature. That's really the main reason I kept it. Who knows, I can always slap the fuel pressure back on there if I wanted, just gotta figure out the whole sender thing.

Laptop is back up, here's some better pics. They're gonna dry until tomorrow, then I'll get some self tappers and install them. Looks like the temp sender for the transmission fluid will be too close to the headers, so I'm going to investigate tapping into the factory sensor. I know that'll give me the same reading as torque, but if I monitor it on a gauge then I can save myself the gauge on Torque. That way I can have more bandwidth and the gauges I do use on Torque will be faster. Right now I get ~50 PID per second. If I have 4 gauges on torque, each gauge refreshes 12.5 times per second. Loosing boost and transmission temp will bump that up to 25 times per second. Anyways, pics of the pod...
Our old picnic table cracked so I have a painting table, lol. It's got a texture to it, just like I wanted:

Done for now. Oil pressure gauge and senders will be here Monday, so that'll finish it up. I tried running the temp gauge off of the factory sensor and I think, yes think, it'll work once I put a diode on it. For now if I try it the PCM value pegs to -38.2*F, lol. I'm guessing a ground is back feeding through the gauge. All the wires and such are run for the oil pressure gauge, so it should be plug and play.

    Other pillar:

I think they tie in with the other dark pieces in daytime, and the faces tie in with the audio head colors at night. Not too shabby for a tan interior. Does it do anything visually for you while driving? Y'know... any butt dyno gains, etc? Ha, kidding. Hope you're pleased with it.

I am, I'll be happy if I can pull off the toggle switch thing, but who knows. I gotta figure out if a Diode has any resistance. Right now the Vacuum gauge works like it should, and I've grounded out the oil temp to test it and it works great. I can do this and look even cooler while driving now:

Oil pressure gauge came in so I installed it. Back went out yet again so hunching over or reaching into a engine bay is out for a few days. At least I don't have a hole in the pillars anymore:

I might, I don't know. I really hate taking the needles off, lol. I kinda like the flow with the headunit gauges, pillar gauges and the cluster. Who knows what I'll do.

Well after another 2 weeks the gauges are done for now. Oil temp is actually trans temp, oil pressure sender might be funky, and vacuum works great, lol. good news is my back held up find, so trailing arms should go in tomorrow. Here's some pics:

This is after warming the engine up to 190* at idle (for the oil pressure). I feather the gas and it jumps to 75+PSI. See:

That dash is a freak at night! Having OP gauge is cooh. Mainly glad your healing was a go. Easy to mess things up when you start feeling better, this I know.

So now whut? The worser tower? Aw thats right, moving. Either way, hope weather works with ya when you need it to. Been lots of cloudy mild days here in the region so far this year. Long spring and fall, thats what I like about here. Good for car fix/ enjoy stuff.

Yep, it's chill weather for sure. Figures now that my back is feeling better my left arm is flaring up. I broke it when I was 13 on the growth plate so one bone stopped growing and is 45mm shorter than the other. It gets some pretty weird feelings from time to time, lol. It's a 3 month without work ordeal and quiet a bit of $ to get fixed, so it'll come in a few years to say the least. Til then I baby it a bit and cry like a girl when I hit a funny bone.

Anyways, those poly trailing arms hopefully go on tomorrow, and tonight I'm working on the CS144 conversion write up. Once that stuff is done I hope to finish up the window rolling capabilities of the alarm, and tear into the truck. It needs a new transmission pan since I put a drain plug in and naturally it leaks, along with the lip of the pan being not-so-flat. I also need a new valve body, I put a Transgo kit in it and it never really shifted right again. Hold 1st's to long, slams into 3rd from OD under LIGHT throttle, fun stuff. I tried messing with the TV cable to help...I ****ING HATE THE TV CABLE...made little to no difference. Oh and a new oil pan because right by the RMS leaks. Oh and a new tail-shaft housing because my "External Lube Mod" for the AOD went to ****. I have a new tail shaft housing though. Oh and a new battery (one of them died). Oh and a few things I robbed for the car. Then just inspection\tags and it should be good. Not that bad, right? lol. I just need the $ to do it. Whew.

Dang thats plenty of to-dos! And 45mm never felt so big as that does, I'd imagine. Man thats a lot. I got lucky, (mine also broke at growth plate but at 48 y.o.) radius and ulna are still very close in length. However one arm bone is "half a flat" off where it was. If the correct face could be pinned down and located, I would gladly swing at that for a re-break!

I heard that. I wish I broke them both on the growth plate. I could deal with a short arm (which it is shorter than my right by a bit) if it were at least even. I have nightmares about bench pressing or doing push ups and having my radius bow and snap, lol.
