So it seems like 2 months later, but the trailing arms are going on. Passenger side is done, I just need to put the wheel on but it's lunch time lol. Everything went together pretty easily, just needed to bend trailing arm bracket a little since the poly bushings were a bit wider. Here's some pics, I love this weather and dirt roads. everything was so clean a few months ago:

They're both in, and on my initial test drive, I'm very happy. I didn't go all that fast, but I could feel a difference trying to whip the ass end around. No noises, and everything went together relatively easily. Here's some comparison pics and how far I have between the arm and tire.

    Plenty if room:

I'll take her down a windy road when I know my back is closer to 100%, and I have more of a reason to enjoy myself.

So now that some time passed... still all good? If so, nice R&D you did for the next guy. Nice new arms. Mine (the ones with hands not poly) gave me fits running a die grinder and hammer today. I just dropped in for a periodic peek here, because i thought of a new name for it- the LED Zeppelin. yuk yuk

Haha nice. I'll have to sleep on it to see what I think in the mornin'. I have driven it a bit and it seems good. I notice a difference, so that's a plus. No noises yet either so that's cool too, lol. A buddy at work gave me the fittings I need to get the temp sensor plumbed into the engine, and the temp sender gets here Saturday so hopefully I hope to have all that done. I don't believe my oil pressure gauge\sender so I'm talking to Glowshift about replacing it. They want Ohm reading which is fine, then they know weather to send me a gauge or sending unit, lol.

Then if all goes well and there's no rain, I'll get the sun roof wired into the alarm. If that works, I might try the windows. I gotta find somewhere in the door to stuff in that gigantic relay box. If I can't find anywhere I have 2 solutions:

Run the relay box in the dash somewhere, then run wires into the door from there.

Buy mini relays on ebay and a project box, then stuff that in the door somewhere.

No idea which route I'll take, hell I might be able to put the relay box somewhere in the door.

Got the the plumbing ready for the temp and pressure senders on the engine. Oreilly's had to special order the temp sender so it took all week, lol. They also didn't have a toggle switch I liked so that'll wait until the next Springfield trip so I can goto Radioshack. I don't want a monstrous switch on the pillar, I want something smaller, but still easy enough to flip. Here's the only pic so far, it's pretty intense:

I installed the oil temp sender and other fittings today, along with a new oil filter just to rule that out as a reason fro high pressure. No change, still shows 85+ PSI at idea, so I took impedance readings at the sender and will be sending those to Glowshift on Monday. I also got the sunroof wired into the alarm.

Open was easy enough, worked perfectly as I planned. Closing was a different story. The alarm puts out a 0.8 second ground on the lock pulse, the one touch module only "auto-closes" on a 0.4 second or less pulse. What's this mean? The sunroof closed about 2 inches, and that's it. I had to lock the car about 15 times to close the sun roof. After some invaluable help from my buddy Jeff (J57ltr) I was able to use a 1000 microfarad capacitor with a 10k resistor to shorten the pulse. I had talked it over with my dad and he said the cap trick wouldn't work, but I have some news for him lol. All I have left to do is solder up some connections and tuck it all back into the headliner. Everything works EXACTLY like I want it to. Next weekend I might do the windows.

Some of my friends say my car will become self aware soon, lol.

I think so, lol. Next up is the windows, they'll behave the same way pretty much. I just will hold 2 different buttons on the remote and they'll roll all the way down. It'll be nice being able to get out of the car with all the windows down and such, then hit the lock button and it closes everything for me.

That's something I always wanted to do. To be able to crack or open the sunroof/windows without having to go out to the car to do so. Then being able to close them without having to do that as well. You'll be getting some questions from me when the time comes and I invest in a start/alarm setup.

Fine by me. I know it seems like a lot of work in the this thread, but that's me doing the trial and error. Most of your descent alarms have aux channels, and all they do is ground a wire coming out of the alarm. That's all this is. I just had to use 3 relays, a 1000uF cap, and a 10K resistor. That is assuming your sunroof has the auto-close function. If not you'll have to install a one touch module from my how-to. Oh and I had to run a 12 AWG wire up the passenger side A-pillar (driver side pillar is full from the gauges, alarm, GPS, etc.) so the sunroof module has power at all times. The sunroof has power all the time, but one of the 3 relays I installed disconnects the sunroof switch when the car is off.

Whenever you need help, feel free to ask.

Looks good, I'd bet it has 3 Aux channels, for some reason a lot of the time they count the trunk popper as an aux channel. Some companies handle the whole aux channel different, too. On this Excalibur I have I have a 0.8 second ground pulse, so it grounds a wire for 0.8 seconds...no other option. The Autopage in my truck has a bunch more options...0.5 second pulse, on until ignition is turned on, on until you hit the buttons on remote again, on a for a time you set (during programming), all kinds of cool stuff. Another feature the Autopage has is it'll tell you the temperature in the truck on the keys. The Excalibur has a temperature sensor, but doesn't say it on the keys. That Autopage (who is made by DEI, who also makes Viper) is awesome. It's 10 years old and has a lot more features than this "Top of the line" Excalibur.

I'll have to do some more searching I just remember the 5806v being the one I wanted for its feature and price and I didn't want a bulky remote w/ a screen. I'll have to look at autopage and see what they offer. Won't be buying once until I take care of other things first.

    Lol yea, she loves it.

Autopage and Viper are made by the same company so they probably have very similar setups. I'll look at the manual for yours later and see what all it has to offer.

I used to do a lot of the DEI products but I didn't like the way it operated compared to Crimestopper or Code alarms. I got in good with them back in the late 80's through the late 90's they had a lot of secret functions like being able to do a manual transmission safely. There were also programable outputs. The easiest way is using a window module they are cheap, but I know Booba likes to do it the unique and creative way. It's a real good way to learn. I used to pull the door keypads from Fords and installing it into other cars. If you ever need quality electrical wiring components like for making harnesses, weatherproof connectors, wire loom, connectors just anything. I wired an entire street legal rocker using this catalog. The company is called Waytek.

PS could you redo the vid in the light I was having trouble seeing it?

Lol, nevermind I missed the second vid. Looks good are you going to do all 4 at once or separate them front and rear?

I only have one aux channel left so all 4 windows will be on it. I normally roll all 4 down at the same time anyways so no biggie.

So after the other windows are all integrated into the alarm, I have another project lined up.

Automatic windshield wipers. It'll be a little more challenging than the windows, since it's a 555 circuit but that's the point. I want to challenge myself more and more with this stuff.
