Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
If anyone is curious, here's how I mounted the Halos. I took a lighter to a thumb tack and melted holes in the shroud on the outside of the rim. One hole at 12 O'clock, one at 4:30\5, and one at 6:30\7...just evenly space 3 holes. Then I took the twisty ties that come from garbage bags, burned off the paper(Fire!!!!) so it was very thin, bare wire, then used it to strap down the halo. No glue, no dripping, no failing, no discoloration, did I mention reliable? Here's some pics:
Wire stick through hole:

All three, LOOSE. Slowly tighten each one after you start all three, it doesn't have to be very tight at all.

I grabbed them from the back side with some needle nose pliers and twisted them to tighten them down, like I said it doesn't take much. Just to the point where the halo won't move anymore. Then use wire cutters to cut off the excess wire, and fold it back into the corner:

Now I just need to drill a hole in the housing, run the wires and put it all back together. Then I might actually try and aim them during the day, lol. They are pretty bright, so who knows.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
Well the quick start alternator guy just lost my vote. He won't warranty anything because I installed it. There's no mention of this on his website, or anything along those lines. Everything worked fine for a week then it won't put out anything at idle, but he still says it's my fault...but can't tell me what happened. Luckily I've already found another source for parts, because I won't be buying anything from this guy again.

Love headlights.
Do not love GRAND PRIX across grilles.

But how will you know its a grand prix ;)
Retros look nice, get some stealth bulbs for the corners!

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
I guess I'll pull the Grand Prix off and see how I like it. It was temporary to begin with, so I tacked it on with super glue over a year ago, lol.
I'll probably end up with LEDs on the corners, sine the Halos blink faster (sooner?) than the incandescent bulbs I have now.

So, curious...is this thing just bone stock with a 3.6" and GenV?

Pretty sure he has headers and ER rockers, I thought.

Great work on the Retro's!
Not so much on the "Grand Prix" on the grilles. That needs to go.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
What kind of halos are those? Those aren't trs halos rights?
-
Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
They are the TRS halos, and I have a Reptile tune, ER rockers, FWI, Gen V, and SSAC headers. I used the wire method to hold them on so there's no glue on the halo part.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
Ahh alright... For some reason I thouht they looked a little different than the trs halos. But yea I think that's a great idea... I've seen people use fishing line as well to hold them down but I like your idea as well!

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
With my luck the fishing line would melt and I'd have to rip them all apart and remount the halo. It was a win win because my wife is a little bit of a pyro and she loved burning the paper off of the trash ties, lol.

Haha yes... Good piece of mind:)

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
Just went out to check everything out while I was on break at work and they're straight, but the passenger side is a bit on the low side, and the adjuster is maxed out. I also have a bit of bounce to them (when I closed the door), so I'll be stuff some weather stripping under them to see if that helps with both things (bounce and height). Other than that, she's golden! Just for reference, what height do you guys set the cut off to? I was going around 25 inches at 25 feet. TRS says the height of a passenger mirror, but that 36 inches and waaaaay to much, I'll never get them that high, lol.

General role of thumb
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...HID-headlights
^ I start there and usually ride around for awhile and make any adjustments that I may need remember with a lowered or raised car you have to take that in account. For example since I lowered white a bit I aim them a bit higher but before I make it permanent I drive around to make sure I'm not directly in someone's mirror and not blinding other drivers.

Re: 2000 GTP...Retros, suspension goodies, 3.6, ...KR.
Ye they were a little too high for the ride home (but awesome) so I lowered them a bit. Only the passenger side has a little vibration to it, so I'll go ahead and do the weather stripping to be safe. The stock housing has some vibration to it as well, so it's nothing I've done. Oh and the Grand Prix on the grills has been removed, lol. I'll get some pics tomorrow.
