Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
New (and hopefully final) alarm is in! It's the next model up from what I had before, and is currently the best Excalibur has to offer. Specification wise, it's the same as what I had except for the range (1 mile vs 1500 ft), the color of the remote, antenna, and it comes with a car charger for the remote (woohoo?).
I've had 2 of the previous versions, both operated about the same, and somehow the range got slightly better after a few weeks. My only complaint was range, when it worked it worked exactly like I wanted. This new one seems to operate MUCH faster, by this I mean the confirmation on the remote. When I arm the alarm the remote plays a little video of a car door locking. With the old model it was about a second or so (probably a bit less) before the video played. This model has easily cut that in half. The screen on the remote also has better color and lighting, etc. I'm still charging the remote before I test the range, but before I swapped them I tested the old one and there were a few dead spots in the house. So far, I haven't had any dead spots in the house. Tomorrow at work will be the real test. Surrounding myself in Okuma Lathes, mills, Faunc robots (and safety cages), and all that fun stuff MIGHT give a little signal interference. The old model only worked if I was within 30 feet of the wall I was parked on the other side of.
Overall it just seems like if there was a "best" pile of parts at the Excalibur factory, the AL-2050-EDPB gets it's parts from that pile, while the AL-1950-EDPB get's it's parts from the "good enough not be considered scrap" pile. This is just my initial impression, so time will tell if I still feel this way in a few weeks.

Swapped out that bad injector for one of my old ones yesterday, I love how easy these cars are to work on.
Then something cool happened...MY TAXES CAME IN, lol.
I bought the LAST Addco rear sway from Jegs on ebay, should be here by Feb 10. On top of that I have all kinds of stuff coming from Rockauto:

And I'm currently waiting for The Retrofit Source to chat with me, unless you guys can tell me...What size Halos do we use?
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
For the mini gatling shrouds its 70mm
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
They just now started chatting with me and told me the same, lol. I was hoping to get 5500k for it, but they're out so I think I'll have to go with 4300k. Boo.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Nooooo wait and get 5500k trust me they are kick ass.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
And that helped make up my mind, lol. He said they should have them in next week, so it won't be all that bad. I'm not workin overtime the next few weeks so I can work on the car before work. The sooner I get this stuff done the sooner I drive 1400 miles to AZ for 2 weeks, lol.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Ordered, they'll be shipped out next week. Its funny, in 12 hours I've spent like $800 on the car, with more coming. Before I buy anything for the rust I want to pull the side skirts off this weekend to see what I'm dealing with. It'll be embarrassing, but I'll post pictures. I still have some lowering springs to buy, Vogtlands or Eibach, not sure yet. And solid square upper mounts, and try to fix the kitchen sink in my headers at some point. Oh and upgrade the alternator internals. Yea. I have a lot of work ahead of me, lol.

Lol, not this year. I gotta get my truck going and move this year, and that's after all this and the AZ trip. Something like that will come around when I have an actual garage to work in.
What do you guys think? Eibach or Vogtlands for a DD in the country...ish
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Vogtlands, last I remember Eibachs dropped the car pretty damn low

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Well **** I had some Eibachs lined up. Oh well.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Gonna visit any of the salvage yards while you're in AZ? Guaranteed rust free parts!
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Oh yea, I have an entire day set aside to go trolling the yards. I used to live by all of them on the south side, but it's been 4 years, lol.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
IIRC there were versions of the Eibachs I kno one dropped more the the other but it's been so long. Probably best to do some searching and ask the buyer what kind of drop he got with them

It's only $40 more for the Vogtlands and I KNOW they'll work fine, so I'll just get them. Tomorrow, I've reach the limits for my wife's and my debit cards today, lol.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Wife is going to put you out on the street, but at least you'll have new car parts :)

Well played Sir! I used the "better gas mileage" excuse for rockers. Haha!
