I made a separate thread than my custom paint job because I believe that if anyone has any questions that it will be easier to answer system specific questions in this thread. Also I was not allowed to add anymore images to my first post on that thread lol.
I did all the wiring and cutting and bulding by self. During the box build process, since the box could not fit into the trunk I built it in two pieces. I built the front of the box (the smaller portion), and then half of the rear part of the box (the bigger portion) and then put it in the trunk and put them together and then finished the rest of the box. This box cannot be removed from my car - obviously. I get close to a 1/16" of an inch clearance from my trunk lid to my box. It is a very tight fit.
Subs: Incriminator Audio 15" D2's
Wood: Instead of MDF I used Birch because it is stronger and much lighter.
All the pieces cut to size - always a good feeling
Rear deck speakers - had to be modified to fit in there.
The last time I will see my battery.. (The box will make it impossible to get to)
Making the port that goes inside the first box. Notice my golf cart in the background with the 4 or 6" lift and atv tires lol
Front of the first box
Back of the first half
Almost 40% done! Just have to make the other half of the box and install the subs and wire everything up.
Test fitting to make sure it'll work
Test fitting to make sure it'll work
Painted it for when people look inside the box
It's getting close - I had to remove the two parts of wood that hold the sub and the sides and the back in order to get it to fit into my trunk and then I had to put it back together once it was in my trunk.
Lots of support.
Finally got it to fit in the trunk, now I have to glue the boxes together
Getting the sides on the back part of the box
All together as one piece finally
Beefy 15" subs
As you can tell - My battery is still there, but is now impossible to get to lol.
This is my backseat - The port of the box fits right into that slot when the armrest is folded down lol.
Now just for the top..
The finished product - Notice the clearance lol
Note - I used Titebond II wood glue and screws on the first box and the second one I used silicone and screws just incase I had to take the box out for some reason. Silicone would be much easier to take apart than wood glue.
Any questions - just ask
