OK I found a great deal on some flow matched 57# injectors on ClubGP. Does anybody have any input as to whether or not these will support my build (running E85) I know most people go 60# or 65# then the big boys run 80#'s, but honestly my build is pretty mild. I have little to know experience with this area of these motors, so any input is appreciated.

EDIT: I just found out he sold the injectors, sooo does anybody have some used 60# injectors they want to sell me? Or some aftermarket fuel rails/logs to give the motor a cleaner look when its all put back together?

Yeah there 149+50 deposit for stockers which I would have to mail in. Plus there is a set for sale on the forums that is brand new for 140+shipping, but I see them sell for 100 occasionally used... and big whoop used/new whats the difference with some thing like fuel rails lol

Did some work on the motor today, also cleaned the transmission and got ready for my pan drop and install of transgo shift kit. Still trying to work out how I will be low mounting my alternator. I really would like to use the original 98 GP alternator, purely because I have it already, and I know it is in working condition. I do know most people use a 99+ style, and the alternator from a 99 astro van is also a popular one to use to replace the PS pump. I would really like to put it in place of the AC compressor, but have only seen this done once.

Things left to do are: figure out, and mount the alternator...find and purchase injectors, and some sort of rails/logs....probably also hotwire the fuel pump, and upgrade it...drop pan on transmission, install shift kit, then paint it....clean cradle....rejoin the motor to the transmission.... reinstall the cradle in the car.... do a wire tuck...and figure out whether I want to buy tuning software and tune it myself, or pay a local dyno/tuner shop to do it for me. I am sure I am forgetting something, but I would like to have it complete within a couple months. I originally told myself when I started the overhaul back in October that I would have it drivable again by this coming summer, so I am ahead of schedule.

Stock transmission from the same donor car as the motor. 1998 GTP that was wrecked in 2001 with 40k miles... Will be keeping it stock for now, besides the TransGo shift kit. It felt really good when I had the car running at basically stock, so Hopefully it will survive.

    Hopefully it will survive.

    But it probably wont.

At least throw in the 4340 Input shaft while its out.

But better yet do the 300M.

wouldn't the 300M be overkill? Also would I have to do anything else besides install just the input shaft? My knowledge on transmissions is about equal to a kindergarteners. Lol
dont know what kind of power numbers to expect, but I am not even going intercooled. CAI, Ported TB, Ported gen III blower with silencer plate and MPS( not sure what pulley wi be best yet probably 3.0-3.25), modified LIM, mild port and polish L67 heads with XP cam, Comp Cams 105# springs, titanium retainers, hardened keepers, Si valves, Speed Daddy headers, catless 3" downpipe to dual 2.5" tailpipes, all emissions/power steering/AC deleted. Once it is finished I will most likely be tuning for E85, original goal was 300whp, a local tuner/dyno shop has dyno days all the time so more then likely I will get a sheet to show everybody.

i would imagine the lighter weight of the car as well as the low miles will work very much in your favor and you should be fine for awhile on the stock trans, btw any idea how much it weighs?

Most people that do these swamps with minor weight reduction( spare tire, etc) run about 2650 dry curb weight, I weigh a solid 225, gas weighs about 7lb a gallon. I was hoping the same thing, when I am completely done with it I want to run it down the strip a couple times, then honestly as much as I love the car, it may then immediately go on the market. My step dad and I are wanting to build a fox body stang, and realistically only have room in the shop for one car... SHE says no yard ornaments, so yeah

My car is a bit over 3000lbs and its a base base coupe with some good weight reduction (interior/dash/front end/AC/trunk) with light wheels on it.

Assuming you weighed it with yourself, and fuel in the tank, that would fall right around what I said, I'm sure you turbo setup is an extra 100 pounds too.

I like the exhaust and the diamond plate side covers!
Yeah I am on FZ1 forums, and that is my other baby, an 03 Gen I FZ1, I got it last spring and have put over 10,000 miles on it so far. I am debating going to a GenII, but reallllly love the new crossplane R1's. we will see what this summer brings!

GenII's are nice, R1's are even sweeter. I sold my 01' a while back and picked up and restored a 97' YZF1000R. It's a one year only sweetheart of a ride. Keep up the good work!

    No.

3170 with me in it ( I am 170). Fuel was less than half tank, turbo setup is as heavy as a m90 is.

Fieros are heavy. It drives me crazy that everyone seems to think they are sub 2500lbs without issue.

No, my trans has the 4340 IS, Shift Kit, and Hardened 4th.

What i have in my trans is the least of what you should do.

No, the 300M is not overkill. I personally think you should do it right the first time and never have to touch the trans again.

Do the 300M, since the 4340 is known to fail on a decent size supercharged build. If the 300M is out of the budget, at least do the 4340 to give yourself more wiggle room.

The ideal trans build would include, 300M, all Valve Body upgrades, TransGo Shift Kit, Hardened 4th, 7/8th Chain, but its all about how much your willing to spend in the end.

In reality though, its your foot that kills the trans. You plan on beating on the car? Think about upgrading the trans.

for one I have never touched the inside of a transmission, so I don't know what to expect, but I am up for anything that I think I can handle. I do not plan on beating on the car on a regular basis, I will daily drive it until I get a nicer daily driver for commuting. Right now I have a 1999 century that was born and raised in Michigan, and honestly looks like a scrap yard car, but it runs like a top. Not a big deal but now since I live in Georgia all the cars down here looks nice, so I want to get a 98-03 regal GS and have been watching Craigslist for a while, but being so close to Atlanta most of the cars I see are all ghetto slammed, and I want to avoid that, more looking for grandmas car.... But yeah back on topic, I am sure the fiero will see the occasional drag strip, and the occasional cocky sports car driver that I see on the way to work :P
