wheelies could be a lot of fun... lol

well, oil pan gasket got fixed (again) tonight. let it warm up and i didn't see any drips coming from the pan or any bolts. but i did see drips. upon closer inspection, this is my thought process:

    "insert dirty words here"
"that's not where my head was at all day...
"why is there oil on my bellhousing"
"headers are above the oil pan, why is there oil draining down my headers?!?!"
    "aftermarket intake... sunofab!tch..."

sure enough, i see oil draining out of the back of the intake gasket.

    brick, meet face.

You have to pull the distributor out to change it. It's not to bad just look where it is at when you take it out mark it and put it back in the same way.

well hopefully when i take the intake off, i'll fix the oil leak, coolant leak from the upper radiator hose, and seepage from the intake bolts all at the same time. then all i'll be leaking is trans fluid and coolant from my rigged overflow tank

Clean looking truck man. Making progress on it? If you'd rather not pull the intake, you can try cleaning it up where it meets the block and then putting a thick bead of RTV over it. A brand called Right Stuff is awesome, would probably seal it up.

oh yeah, it was a pretty good day off.

the black spot in the back? that's not a shadow...

and possibly why it was leaking...

maybe not, because it was a lot more prevalent on the right side. going from the transmission and the fact that i watched it drip from the right side, it might not be an issue. i don't have an tools to get it out, i might just have to get crafty with the RTV. where do i get this Right Stuff that you're talking about?

Ouch. I'd definitely work on getting that bolt out. If the gasket doesn't seal there, you could have coolant leaking into your oil and not know until it's too late. Right stuff should be at any parts store by the other RTV's.

Soak it with penetrating oil for a few days and try vise grips. Maybe you could borrow a 90 degree drill or get a cheap one from harbor freight if you can't get it out.
