take the plaxtic inspection plate off the bottom of the tranny, then clamp the flex plate with a pair of vice grips, then use a breaker bar and a pipe to break the bolt free.

you need the right puller to remove the balancer, and the right size bolts.

^^ Use a pair of vicegrips on the flexplate, and use a big ass breaker bar. And yes, it is a normal threaded bolt.

or the redneck way, using the starter to break the bolt free.

If you do the 'starter trick' make absolute sure that the bar is not going to move any, and that you only bump the starter. It works great too btw.

That didn't work for me at all. Mine took a few minutes with an impact to get off.

ive seen vids where they used a jack stand to lay the bar on, then tap the starter.

people always say to disable the engine so it cant start, i dont see the big deal, just turn the key to off after you click it.
