OK, so I'm making a list for an order from RockAuto.com. It looks like I am only allowed to get struts on the cheap. So does the econo-matics come with everything I need, minus the spring compressor? Do I need the mounts as well? On the RA site it didn't say mount, but on Northern Auto Parts: - Monroe Econo-Matic Complete Strut Assembly 181880 by MONROE AUTO EQUIPMENT COMPANY it says mount included. It's not the same part number, but when I put it in RA site, the part comes up with the same description. I am assuming it does come with it. I know you guys will bash me for going cheap, but it was the only ground we could reach in the middle. Later on I will start improving the car and better struts will be along with it. We are making this order because her mother needs new struts too and we want to get it all at the same time.
So, the list.
Struts all around
Tranny mount (Doesn't sound right no matter how I say it)
2 Engine to radiator hoses
Valve cover gasket set
So this is what I figure will buy me time. Then I will get into the muck of things soon. I won't let this go till I feel not just satisfied but happy with it as well.
Anything quick additions or advice before I place this order? I can always make a new order later.
if it were me, id clean it up, find whats leaking before buying parts. unless the struts are bouncing 4 or 5 times after you push the bumper down, let them slide, fix the brakes, the abs light, aka maybe a hub is bad. and the engine and tranny mounts. this list is far more important.
Loved the CDO
If it's a complete assembly it shoudl come assembled strute, spring, and mount. Ready to be bolted in.
I got the monroe quick struts I found them cheaper on ebay than from rock auto try a guy by the name of HardPartsFast on ebay
