To answer ypur original question, it really depends on your mechanical ability and experience. Personally I think they are not bad at all. Just pay attention to detail. Clean head bolt holes.

I second this. Definitely depends on what you've done before and stuff. I don't think they are that bad either. But like Sushamouf said, clean the bolt holes and take your time with torque specs etc.
