Thanks, I will never own a black car again. I agree that they usually look pretty sharp, but they look dirty the easiest. My 1st car was 1988 Buick Park Avenue Electra that was black.

I like the GR2s just fine. I don't rally and wanted a "like stock" ride. I feel like my car rides like new(which is slightly floaty in a Buick). They took about a month to "break in". If I ever decide to go for a drop or get a firmer ride, I'll probably just shell out the dough for coilovers.

    What is "no homo"?

This being an interwebz forum... the tail end of my statement (I always wanted a black one) could be immaturely interpreted as a gay statement. Therefore I covered my bases by saying no homo to prevent future gay jokes.

Guess I'm not "down" with the current lingo. Ironically, "no homo" sounds particularly gay despite the indication of the contrary.

Real-world knowledge is not always applicable on the internet.

    Also,
I bought a ZZP FP rewire. Should I run that wire through the cabin? or underneath?

But in this case hes right.

It implies the first thing you thought of when you said that was gay.

    Typical installs are going underneath.

With your mirror now off, do you see enough room for that buick projector puddle that you have?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

There is a lot of room in there. I didn't look to see how big that insert was. I'll have to look to see if i can find any measurements.

FINALLY my motor stand mounting bolts arrived. I threw those bad boys in and finally got the motor mounted. This stand is pretty solid, and I can rotate the motor relatively easily with the bar.

Also FINALLY got my new parts washer up and running. Just took this alternator bracket off and sprayed/brushed it for a few minutes. Mineral spirits work pretty well.

One caveat I'm faced with is what to do with some of these filthy parts and some of the attachements. I have a water pump gasket and an oil filter mount gasket and some others. I don't have any leaks with some of these, but I'm debating if I should go ahead and replace the gaskets while the engine is out and everything is easy access. At one point I was considering painting a bunch of this stuff, but I think that idea has sailed. I may paint the VCs still, but other than that I don't think I'll do much.

Is that for the metal gasket? RA has it listed as Permadry.

it's in the common part numbers and goops thread for the Gm number. I'm sure the number Matt gave you is cheaper.

Put on my Crow Cam 105# valve springs today. Tomorrow I'll put on the modded 1.9s and button up the Valve covers. Unless I decide to paint them.

I'm trying to make sure I do at least one thing each night so this project doesn't drag on forever. Just waiting for my LIM gasket to arrive. Supposed to get here tomorrow.

Did some more deadening and wiring today. I pulled new speaker wires. The previous install just tapped the OEM speaker wires. This gave me an idea. I'm just going to hijack them for the mirror turn signals. Also threw a spot of deadener on the trans.

Please take the chain off the axle and put a strap or just put cloth between the chain and diff cover.

By holding on the axle..you can hurt the axle seal.
