Update: 1/25/09...

Sunday afternoon I finally got my Alky Kit completed. Thanks to Chance for the help , plus letting me grab some DO Brew (50/50 mix Alky/Water) on off business hours. I figured I might as well go this route I mean he's local to me, no need for me to mix, and he's always been good to me over the years. I consider him a good friend/business man.

Anyway, before filling the reservior I pulled off the tube from it, and pulled the tube from the nozzle off and got a catch can. From there I got me a good clean cup, filled it with DO Brew, and put the tube from the washer tank into the cup. I then applied direct power to the pump to cycle it. I did this to ensure that there was no trash (dirt, hose pieces, etc) that could of somehow got trapped in the lines/pump (even though I was clean and careful, **** happens) and I wanted to be absolutely sure I had no nozzle clogging issues. This doesn't need to be done, but I did it because it only took 5 minutes to do this to be absolutely sure. What the hell, right? Sorry, no pictures of this procedure. I think I explained it well enough though, if not, ask me and i'll help you out.

Anyway, after all that I reassembled the front bumper, headlights, etc and tied up any loose ends left to do. Pulled my plugs and gapped them down from .050 to .045 and I filled the system with brew and made sure everything was working properly, which it was. Here are some meaningless pics from my evening....

Completed engine bay shots...

The Nozzle, i'm using a DO5...

Here's some of the good stuff... Devilsown Brew, basically a 50/50 mix Meth + Water...

Me being a smartass...

Me adding the "good stuff" to my washer tank...

And my controller armed and ready to roll...

BTW, there is no running procedure to make this think work, it works right out of the box. If you wire it up correctly and make sure you have a GOOD contact point on your MAP sensor wire, you'll be good to go.

Since it was late and I needed to clean up and get to bed I only got to play with the Kit for about 30-45 minutes last night. I've been in need of a retune for awhile now, but i've held off since I knew I was going to be adding Alky to my setup. Anyway, with the exact tune the first WOT run I got 4-5 degrees of KR, and my AFR was about 10.5. I wasn't in it long when I saw the KR. It was running quite a bit richer than before the alky, which was to be expected. Before my AFR was around 11.5. Luckily for me I have an ICCU I leaned out the fuel gradually. Did about 3 more WOT runs. I finally got 0 Degrees KR, 11.5 AFR through 3rd gear (I got a spike on the shift which was false, most likely from the hard shift and solid/poly mounts). Very impressive IMO, considering I did a 20 min half ass fuel tuning with my ICCU. This all on a 3.0", about 17-18 degrees timing, 91 octane. DO unit turn on point is at 5 and max at 8 for the progression.

Did I feel a difference? IMO, yes I did and I was very impressed! I'm very skeptical about things too. I don't notice mods much either, the only real mods I really noticed was the Full Sized IC and the trans (because of the 3.29s and 3000 stall). I figured I noticed the difference mostly because I was getting full timing advance because of no KR. I've been getting 3-4 lately because of the weather. Otherwise i'm usually at 0 KR., especially in the Spring/Summer months oddly enough.

I have ALOT more work/tuning to do to get this car just right. So far though i'm happy and I recommend this mod to everyone. I just wish I did it sooner! Hopefully in the future I can play with pullies and timing. For now though, work has got me pre-occupied for a bit.
