Amen to that, I drive junk!
Theres a BIG difference in what I can do for myself and what I can recommend that others do though. We all just do the best we know how, at the time.

Yup and I'm voting to delete this thread the last thing you need is a redneck fix.. And someone doing it and something goes wrong.
If you've just started out with a welder and want to do it yourself I'd obviously say to get some practice first... that's going to be a precision weld - you'd need to be within a couple degrees in order to allow the wheel to be aligned right afterwards. Plus the welds would have to be mighty strong so they don't let go at an inopportune time.
Me, I don't have welding tools. Lumber becomes the next best option, although admittedly it's like getting an award for being the tallest midget... you're still short.
Probably a topswapped n/a, with the little goodies like dual exhaust etc
never buy a mechanics car....we know just what we have to fix enough to keep it going....
something goes wrong lol. id rather have wedged the 2x4 and 1x4 in there before it popped, then it wouldnt have moved.
if the ride height change at the right rear is such a worry for you then id assume youd rather someone have blocks of wood in there before it falls the **** off and in the ensuing wreck, a 500$ jalopy slams a schoolbus off a cliff like it was eating crackers in bed.
get it within a 1/4 inch and yer good, if you have a 1/4" gap at the outer seam thats rotted away from the reinforcing plate, the car will sit 1/8th inch lower on that corner, and maybe have 0.2* more neg camber...hardly an issue.
if your worried about yer welds just shove some wood in there for just in case it breaks....haha
just an 04 gt1 stripper, L67/32, 3.29 diff, misc. sleeeeper with the 06 single exhaust and valence swapped on
Well for the record I just got my car done for 3500 bucks, that included rear fender arches, both rockers, both strut towers and complete paint.
That's what keeps popping into my head, if I had rear strut towers that were in that bad of shape, I'd junk the car and get another, and check the rear towers before buying.
Like damn, I don't even like driving with worn bushings in the suspension, let alone what I just saw.
You let Auston touch your car? When?
Well you let me touch it too.. You've got issues..
I thought the GP was your wifes car and you drove the cavi. So you're giving your wife the death sentence then?
