I eventually sold the 99. The guy I sold it to was gay as all hell, and wanted a car to beat his boyfriend's 2.slow turbo Veloster... At this point I had it on a 3.5 pulley and 1.9 rockers so I told him it should dust the boyfriend's car easily. And when I showed him the wood in the trunk, we laughed about it and said "now you can give him your wood."

That was almost a year ago, and I saw that car at the mall about a month ago. It's still on the road, although its at like 224k now (I sold it at 217k).

I've since owned another 99 GTP, an Olds Intrigue, a Regal GS, a LeSabre, and now the 2000 GTP... none of them had rust nearly as bad back there as the original 99 did. Even so, a 2x4 will likely go in the strut tower area this spring as a precaution. I have other plans for this car anyway so the 2x4's will last until I get around to carrying them out.
2003 GT Limited Edition 199k - The $600 winter beater.
2004 Buick LeSabre 172k - Top Swapped, 3.5 pulley, 1.9 rockers, SLP headers... still slow...
