    If you can't get your hands on a plastic syringe to extract the supercharger snout oil (in conjunction with some tubing) I have, and use a battery acid filler bulb that fits and works well. (looks like a turkey baster with an uber-skinny tube.

    I went to walmart and bought a turkey baster for like $1. Then stopped at the auto parts store and got a foot of rubber hose that would fit over the end of the baster and still small enough to fit into the snout hole. That was less than $1. Works great!

    Empty windex bottle here, used the sprayer to pump it out and the bottle to hold the old oil.

    We have some very innovative people here.....

    I went to Tractor Supply and bought a cow syringe, I think it was about 2 bucks, and used some fish air line tubing I had laying around. Lets you measure the amount you pull out if you choose to.

    Pretty much what I created right there with the syringe, and clear tubing about 1' long. Had been doing these since 1999 for mountain bike and motocross suspension forks. Works wonders among belief. So much in fact, ZZP copied the concept, and was selling them on ebay with their "rebuild kits".




    But we all know who the originator was.

    For those of you with an air compressor I just found the greatest thing since sliced bread.

    Its a brake bleeder kit and its onsale right now for 19.99

    Its great for bleeding brakes, and I just took the tip off the end of the hose and sucked out the power steering resevoir, so I know it will work for the supercharger snout oil as well.

    i thought of this, but some people may not have access to such a store


    oh... but how do you know it was a COW syringe? who says it wasnt for a bull or steer or heifer? hmmmm?

    Well its a disposable syringe, for veterinary use only. I was able to buy these direct from the manufacturer in box's of 25 because I pretty much showed them what I was doing with them, and since they do not have the luer lock needle attachment, they were game in selling to me. They liked the idea, and even more after I told them that if you wash them out well after use, you can use them for years. I am still using mine that I made years ago, so its, what...about 9 years old now and still working fine.

    I like the luer lock design cause I can actually THREAD in the plastic tubing onto the syringe body.

    It sure beats the slip fit ones for less money. (test both these work the best)

    Just curious, how often do most of you change your S/C oil? I need to do mine here again soon. You'd be surprised how many stock high mileage GTPs out there that never had this done to them.

    I change mine, and the GF's yearly. I rev my engine higher than she does cause thats just how I drive it, and I go to the track and race, but she sees more miles on her car, yearly, and rarely does her's ever see boost. I want to take care of our superchargers for sure, especially hers, as I polished and rebuilt a brand new supercharger for her car.

    Its cheap, and not worth the risk to let it go any longer IMO. I refill using only GM SC oil. I buy it by the case of 12 from the dealership and they give me a price break.

    Is that all thats involved in changing the sc oil? I need to do mine because I have no idea if it has ever been changed. How much oil is in there? do you just take out what you can then put the same amount back in? sorry for the noob questions but I am new to superchargers.

    ^ its easy. Smelly...but easy.

    General rule, if you don't know...then it has never been changed most likely.

    How much is in there?
    There is only about 8oz. Two 4oz. bottles of the GM supercharger oil is all you need to fill it. Some times more, sometimes less. Any GM dealership should have this in stock most the time. Its usually about $7.00 or $8.00 a bottle.

    You have the right idea, take out, or in your soon-to-be-case SUCK out all you can, and refill to the bottom of the threads where the plug goes. Some times direct sun light or a flash light is a good aid in this to see down in there good. You cannot really over fill it, but you can under fill it. As long as its to the bottom of the threads of the fill hole, your good.

    Comes out pretty smelly, so don't get it on you or your cloths. Normal color is dark ice tea looking color to black at times. But it goes in perfectly clear brand new from the bottle.

    What I do is suck it out, and transfer it to another bottle that has a screw on seal able lid to store the oil in. I use old rubbing alcohol bottles myself. At any given time, i could have about 3 or 4 of them filled up.

    I use a 60 ml syringe and a 10 fr. suction catheter. Works like a charm.

    Has anybody used the intense racing supercharger oil? I have been buying a few things from them and they seem to know their stuff. They have an 8 oz bottle for the same price as the 4 oz GM oil and they say its chemicly exact and they even get it from the same manufacturer.

    Could not tell you honestly.

    They probably do the same thing ZZP does and buy the oil by the 55 gallon barrel in bulk, and for some odd reason don't hike up the price cause they are getting a price break buying in bulk like that. Or calling it their "own special mixture" and charing more etc.

    I personally use, run and install in all my blowers official GM SC oil. For now. The "for now" was a hint to everyone else that something is brewing here locally.
