Thank you for posting this. I agree with you completely. I saw a post a few days ago that had not been responded to in two months or so, I think, and someone gave the guy heck for it when someone posted in it. I felt really felt bad for the person that responded to the post, who was adding to it or asking a question about it (can't remember the specifics) and then got beat on because someone thought it was a "dead thread".

Dead ones are locked, right? If it's not locked, then it should still be fair game for posting.

As for a thread being a year old - Sometimes those are the best ones to read, especially, when there is follow up or good feedback later on. I read a lot of things where people claim this or that, but I want to know about longevity. There are lots of "fixes" that last a few weeks, but I want to know if it's still fixed a year from when it happened, 2 years, 5 years, or more. I have things I've fixed 8-9 years ago on my truck that are still working today. In my opinion, those are valuable lessons and I can give information to someone else with similar issues and know I had good results that lasted.

If we're not supposed to search, then the administrators should remove the feature. If we can search, but not comment after the thread has been idle for more than 24 hours, then they should be disabled after that time frame has passed.

Yes, I'm ranting.

On another note - I have no idea what this guy is complaining about - ix3oh3xi. I agree with Explicit_Spade on his comment. What in the world does someone expect out of a 15 year old pump? E_S is right in that it's NOT GM's fault.
