    so i bought some tie rod ends off of ebay.
    i was looking at the picture, and i dont see how they gripped to be installed or removed, but i might have the process all wrong in my head. (never changed before)
    whats the general process for a wbody?

    There is a square part on it you can grip. Really you hold the tie rod and turn the locknut.

    Make sure you spray stuff down with some pb blaster to make removing the bolts easier.

    You place a pry bar under the steering knuckle and pry down on the top of the tie rod and the nut will zip right off.

    that only happened one time to me. and it was a truck. i was able to pound it back in the knuckle and got the nut off.

    100% will need one.

    when you take the old ones off, crack the lock nut free and leave it loose next tot he old rod end. take the outer rod off, and leave the lock bolt in place.

    now install the new rod to the lock nut, and tighten it, then go for an alignment, it will be close but not perfect.

    Heat. Once you lossen the jam nut, heat it and turn it.

    never heated up a lock nut in my life, the inner rod has a square part on it, put a large adjustable wrench on the bar, another wrench on the lock nut and bust it free.

    No ding-dong. Loosen the jam nut. Heat the tie rod. That is IF he is having difficulty removing it "HEAT IT BEFORE YOU BEAT IT"

    off topic to thread, but does anyone know the axle nut size? ive heard 34 and 35, and im wondering which one to borrow from advance.

    That's the thing. It could be any size if it was replaced before. Because the aftermarket cv shafts come with new nuts and they are typically not the same size as the original

    get a 34 and a 36. truth is a 36 fits a 34 and works, ive done it. i got one of both sizes on my car.

    Lucky for me my center cap comes off the gsx wheels so I can test the sockets right in the parking lot
