Well i came across a 500 dollar roller gtp on cl with headers and exhaust that i want out of it. car appears to be in good shape. its a 2000.

now, my father in law has a century he claims has a 3800 in it but my bro in law wrecked it. im not really sure if that was an engine option or not for that car. i think its a 2000. anyway, the engine and transmission are good.

i know that the engine and transmission will drop right into the gtp. here is the question......

how is this going to work with a gtp dash? the pcm will be from the century. the wiring harness will be from the gtp. would the wiring harness have to come out of the century with the car and go in the gtp?

are there any other modifications i could be missing? this is assuming its a 3800.

    or lets think about this......

what would need to be changed to put a 2001 gtp motor and transmission into a 2000 body?

The Century, to my knowledge only ever had the 3.1 motor in it. I never paid a lot of attention to them though, so maybe 3.8 was an option. You don't mention the year of the Century, so ... that makes it a little tough. Essentially though, I'd get a pcm programmed for the NA motor and whichever trans you choose. Keep the GTP wiring harness and pcm. It's almost everything you would need.

01 in 00. Drop it in and hook it up on the 00 harness/pcm
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks billboost. I think he is mistaken and the century is the 3.1.
