no you don't I have a 03 SE cluster in my 97 the gas gauge has a problem because it connects all 4 of the sender poles as where 97 only connects 3.. it's a pain but it will use whatever cluster just use the back of your 97, swap the odometer and put the face plate back on

^^^ Bill is very knowledgeable I'd trust his opinion

Kold.. go back a page, I explained what was causing the issue... Post #12
Haha man he'd have to have one of those in order for that to be the reason.. Palmela doesn't bleed lol

I dont know which ground to look for. It is an ignition issue. You can feel it in the car. Its not the cluster
Smdh
Its been pissing me off really.
I have checked grounds. Checked vacuum lines. Checked spark plug wires.
And it's just the rpms right? If it's revving a little different I'd say maybe something to do with the throttle body.. carbon build up etc

The mph seems to do it also
Well if your not having any issues ie revving, driving etc and it's just the cluster I'd have to assume it's either as Bill said a ground but I don't think one would just get messed up OR it's a sensor which can mess up randomly and seems to be more reasonable of a reason

It will you just have to fix more then just swapping it but I understand

See Kold.. if we remember, Tim swapped his diff, then an engine, then the trans.
Anyone who's swapped a motor, likely knows why I'm saying.. check your grounds.
It's like....if you swapped a motor and all of a sudden your traction/X and Y don't work.. you might have a ground issue.
My traction and all that was actually a wire ripped out of the abs connector lol
I dont know exactly all the grounds to check are..
