My mistake thinking NY was NYC.

Scott is suggesting things to determine if the issue is the fans, the engine, or the driver. If you follow his suggestions (which would be nearly the same from most of us) then you'll have the issue resolved quickly. If you post instead of try stuff, well... then nothing actually gets corrected.

You can check the water pump by taking off the serpentine belt and spinning the pulley on the water pump, if it has any play in it is time for a new one. Shoulda just replaced that while you were doing the coolant elbows. They're relatively inexpensive depending on where you buy them.

This if you didn't bleed the system and add coolant after the elbows.

    This.

You need to start testing some stuff out. If your fans are turning on when you turn on the A/C you can eliminate that.

You probably have air in the system from when you replaced the elbow. If you haven't properly bleed the air out of your system, I would start there. That is most likely your problem. If not, I would check the water pump next.

Basically he is explaining how to test your cooling fans. (By turning the ac on). It could also be air in the system. My personal favorite method is to remove the thermostat housing. Dump coolant in there until the engine is full. Put it back together. Fill the radiator. Replace the rad cap with a new one. Run it the burp out the rest..... Im sure there is some fancy offcial way to do it but that method has worked for me many a time.

Yes it was my stupid water pump. Water Pumps fail with some regularity--you can expect to replace yours sometime before 100,000 miles

Like my Coolant Elbow the thing was left un cared for and it sits at 167,000 miles for an 02. Thanks again everyone for the awesome help

My water pump went around 189K miles. It really depends on how much error was built into it.

CIMG6480.jpgNew Coolant Elbow and Water Pump, It was a pain getting the Coolant Elbow out and had to take the entire Power steering pump out to get it out, and when I did I noticed the issue. The plastic Elbow was completely in 4 pieces cracked and even burned. It took me 3 hours to get it off and back on because of the stupid Pieces stuck inside. Thanks though for the help
