my battery needs to be replaced, i picked up a new one but i cant get the old one out, I unbolted the battery cables and released the battery clamp bolt at the bottom, i removed the bracing bar that goes to the strut. Now it appears this whole fuse box is in the way, I unbolted the two top bolts that go into the strut, popped the cover off, There is 4 bolts in a vertical line... do i remove those to get this fuse box out of the way? i have never seen such a ridiculous design. So if someone could give me some directions that would be great

And by the way, Its -40F where i am, so i can only work outside in 2-4 min at a time, Also if there is any plastic clamps holding that fuse box on they will break if i bend them at all...

Should only need to remove cable, the one bolt for the battery clamp and the support bar. Maybe it is frozen to the tray water can get in the engine bay, especially on that side where there is a direct access hole to the wheel well behind the battery.

    Does it wiggle at all?

Try taking the cover off the fuse box.

IIRC, I had to do a turn to its side and shimmy it up.

okay ill try to turn it, I think this battery is not stock tho, its about 30% larger than the stock one i bought to replace it. If turning on the side works, i can do that for the new battery as well? i thought turning batteries sideways caused problems.

You can take the two nuts off that hod the fuse block down. Pull it up a bit so it will flop around. Take the cover off the fuse block and that will give you the clearance you need. The side of the battery that faces towards the rear of the vehicle needs to come up first. The battery will then be on the other small side and will come right up.

Thanks for the advice, i did end up having to remove the fuse box. the battery is alot larger than the stock one, it all worked out tho. stock one slid in easily and its all good.
