I have a 99 grand prix. It had a mass air flow sensor code so I replaced the sensor. It went off for a few days then came back on with the same code. The connector was loose so I replaced that and it went off for a few more days. I have an apt to get it inspected today and the check engine light came on as I was pulling into work. I have herd that you can pull the ECU fuse and kill the codes so it will pass with out losing all its memory like it would if you un hooked the battery. I cant find the fuse for starters and does anyone know if it will pass an inspection if I do that. Im not sure if it has to go through all the drive cycles first.

If you removed power from the PCM, the codes would be cleared and all your emissions would not be ready.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

check the wires to the maf's plug, look for cracks or missing insulation, if the wires are damaged in any way it car cause the maf code to pop up.

if you do need a new pig tail, make sure you solder the new one on or the same problems will happen again down the road.

what code are you getting? the one that says low voltage?

if it comes back as the low voltage one, check the wires good. open the wire loom all the way to the fat part of the harness.

my wires were also bad, i had to to keep stripping the wires to about 2 inches form the main harness. when you strip the insulation off the copper wire has to be clean and shinny, if its dull looking keep stripping till it shines. dull wire is dead wire, aka dry wire. currant cant flow properly through it.
