I got full boost back. I can feel it more. I bypassed the bbv solenoid and replaced every vacuum line. But mpgs are actually down. Is this normal? TIA

Try other maintence items.
Like spark plugs, wires, new fuel filter, run some seafoam through the gas tank. Make sure to run 91+ gas.
Plugs wires, fuel filter all changed between april and may 93 only since I've owned the car. I will sea foam out even though i just used some gum out. Im thinking of removing the elbow from my map and connecting the vacuum line with some small house instead
What method did you use to bypass the solenoid?
You might be boosting during cruising, which would push more air in the cylinders, which the PCM would read as too lean, so it would add fuel to even out the mixture.
Since it's bypassed, replace the BBV, and hook it back up. It's like $40

I want to but i can't find that or the solenoid. But i unplugged the solenoid capped off the vacuum atthe fuel rail and removed hoses from bbv to bcs
Put the BBV back.... unless it was adjusted wrong or faulty it will always let you go full boost as soon as you have less then -2 or -3 psi in the intake side of the blower. Litterally no performance gain from removing it and you WILL lose mpg. Also it puts more stress of the rest of the blowers parts because normally they are just freewheeling 90% of the time but now your forcing them under load 100% of the time.
I didnt remove it. It runs from map to ubder the snout to the fuel rail it is capped at the fuel rail. When i plug in the BBV I dont get the full pull i feel with it capped. Im lost

Yea thats what i did. Mpg went from 20.7 with bad T's and vacs to17.9 with hard tubing and sealed connectors. I know the rod in the BBV top hat slides in n out. But when all connected Ilost power and take off.
@ Texas do you have another pic from another angle of the BBV and solenoid?

Here is the thread I made about my boost problem, with all my pictures and I STILL have not figured out why it works.

That's where i got the idea. So u never used the new solenoid?
This is driving me crazy! Idk what to do.
Is my BBV supposed to actually move or the rod that goes inside (lol)?
thought so thats what i did. I think my mpgs had dipped because i put a rubber elbow on the MAP when i replaced the vac lines. I was cleaning out my toolbox and had an identical one i blew through it and it was restrictive. So i think my car was running rich as a result. I replaced it with some hose off the MAP to connect it to the hard vac tubing.
