Is it possible to hack off the resonator and just clamp a new one on instead of welding it?

Yes, but you'll need the adapter to go to the flange. Stainless step clamps are what you want.

Nice, then I can do this by myself instead of paying a mechanic to weld it on.

If you haven't already bought it, don't waste your money on a factory replacement resonator. They are not the same as stock, but are exactly the same as a glasspack which will cost half as much or less.

Go to Summit racing web site. They have a 30" resonator for like $30. You size the resonator to the pipe it's attaching to and the same for the flange. The GP has a 2 bolt flange...

Crawl under there and measure and look at what you got, but yes, you can do it yourself.

Or just cut a couple inches behind your flange and use band clamps....

BUT it might be worth your while to go to a muffler shop and get rid of the ubend if you have not already...

Ok, I think I'll just cut before the flange then. So if I have the 3" zzp dp and it connects to my stock resonator which is I believe 2.25", do I get a 2.25" res or 2.5"?
