Yeah, I've never seen the deflector problem get the driver's side wet. The deflector problem causes water to pour directly into the blower housing and it leaks out the housing on the inside effectively soaking the passenger side. Since it's your driver's side suffering, I'm sure the deflector is not the problem. Unfortunately, I'm afraid you may have some other problem and I'm not sure which direction to steer you in on this one to help you solve it.
