So I'm looking at buying a set of tuned ECM/TCM from a guy on GSLS4. If u bought them would all I need to do is get a case relearn done? Or would I have to pay someone else to do more tuning on it

Its from an 08 gxp and its tuned for 87 octane. And aftermarket exhaust. The rest of the tune is just the standard tune will does for tranny and all

From my understanding, case relearning is usually not something much to worry about. Mine snapped right in and fired right up as if nothing had been changed.
Smart move keeping the original..I always keep a spare PCM just in case
Try having dealership do a case relearn. The thing with the key on off for a period of time doesn't work with everyone from the research I've done on it. Its like a hit or a miss weather it works or not. And I've heard good things about overkill and plan to order a set myself soon.

Heard good things myself but everyone I've spoken too, didn't have starting issues and were at least able to get it to the dealer for case re-learn. So I guess my option is to drive to dealer with original ECM, then have them install the tuned ECM and do a case re-learn all at once? Will has been helpful and is sending me another one to see if I have the same issues. My goal is to get it to work above everything else.
i understand...i always thought you had to have a case relearn to start the car...but i havent used any tunes yet so i personally have no experience with em. but i do hope you get it all worked out. keep us updated on what the problem was
After driving around yesterday with the stock ECM, I tried one last time today, put in the tuned ECM and did about 6 cycles, car started right up. Ran rough at first, shut it down, unhooked battery, and started it back up. Ran just fine, except engine light was on, which is because of a case re-learn needed. Everyone kept telling me it is a tedious process and you just get lucky. Can't really comment on the tune yet as I've just driven it around the block.
Correct - I ran my stock ECM with the programmed TCM and worked great.
Next problem is - my local "stealership" said they won't do a case re-learn on the car since it has a "modified ECM". They told me all they would do is flash it to make it "stock" again. They won't touch it with an aftermarket ECM. My check engine light is on and from what I've been told, the car could just die at any moment. Trying to figure out what to do next........
In the end, I hope this is worth the hassle!
