K&N is lame? Lol that's a new one to me. Especially from a comparison to spectre. Isn't spectre the company that had the center plastic piece come off and go into ppls intake??
For the money you can't beat a Spectre.

    Plain and simple.

I've just never been a fan of the over oiled K&N's...especially when you pull them out of the box and they turn your hand red. It's a good time.

Over oiled filter + external MAF sensor = fun times.

    Dry flow FTW.

I agree with all of you guys. KnN way over oiled. , but isn't the spectre oiled as well? I would buy a spectre right off the shelf but like posted above, with the MAF the way it is and then u slap on a cone filter right on it, aren't all oiled filters going to soak the MAF? I would get a dry filter if we had em.

Anyone ever check the MAF or clean it out when running an oiled filter?

I think spectre has a slight coating of oil, but I don't really know. I run a AEM dryflow filter.

Don't have a pn, but it was the 40 dollar spectre filter. I believe it's a 9 inch come, fits 3-3.5-4 inch holes. I just used 4 inch and tightened it down. And just pick up a rubber coupling for the maf to tie into the throttle body. You will see everything on my ride page

    ???

And just pick up a rubber coupling for the maf to tie into the throttle body.
Use a rubber coupling to reduce the size.

If you were to buy that AEM filter you need a 4-3 I believe then tubing from the MAF to the TB.

The spectre has rubber inserts so you get to choose which size you want...IIRC there is a 4", 3.5", and a 3" reducer.

After a fresh filter/ new oil, clean maf in like 30 days, then few months from there.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Well here's my issue as the intake is tore apart. I don't wanna remove the stock back half of the box cuz I wanna keep the PCM in there. Would a 6" be fine? Only reason I'm asking is because I wanna leave the stock intake tube ( the one from the tb to the MAF ) intact. And I can't fit a 9".
